D-Town’ is the first release on a new stateside label, Sober Music, the brainchild of one half of Carbon Community, Dave Cannon. On this first release Dave teams up with man of the moment Bil Bless to produce under the name LoBudg. Though not quite as mind bending as Son Of The Electric Ghost material, ‘D-Town’ still contains unmistakable Bless touches, with the raw edge of crisp drum patterns and twisted synths working well against tightly programmed melodic riffs creating almost laid back vibes along the way. Remix duties go to Chris Carter and JHz, with the first of many releases under their combined moniker, Dogzilla, which takes on a techier approach, gaining momentum in the latter half of the track as the break fills out. Lots more to come on Sober this year, including remixes from Johan SOH, Influenza, Carbon Community themselves and more big name Stateside producers.
