KDL Fantasy Playlist

since it SEEMS like KDL only has 10 songs on its playlist,

for the purposes of this little game list only 10 songs please

**if you were the director that picks the songs that are played on KDL
and you could only pick 10 songs for their o-so-wide rotation,**

now remember u have to make this a profitable station with high ratings, but still play electronic music that die hards will be ok with & at the same time woo new recruits to the sound





((personally i think there should be more songs on the playlist from a greater variety of genres. i think they should have more live mix shows like on the wknds. but anyways...))

The problem I have with the weekend shows is that they don't really give you any info about what's being played. I don't think I heard a name of a track at all this weekend. I thought the purpose of the mixshow was to educate on new sounds?

the following are as mainstream as anyone should get while staying true to being an underground station. they are very random, but would fit a programming ticket. i would like to hear these songs on the air, but i don't think i would like it if they were the only songs ever played as these are great tunes and they do not need to be played out...these are in no particular order:

negrocan - cada vez

bucketheads - the bomb
metro area - metro area 4
knights of the jaguar

ralph falcon - every now and then

I just don't fucking get it.

Why isn't there a Techno hour, or house hour, breaks hour, dnb hour... There's so much god damned electronic music out there, and people that LISTEN to electronic music don't actually listen to the crap played on KDL.

It doesn't make any fucking sense to me. Electronic music is not pop, and KDL shouldn't be treated as a pop station. It's impossible, and is doomed to faliure if it tries - especially considering that the electronic music that actually IS pop is the most obnoxious shit known to man.

Who runs it anyway? How can we get involved? How can people like us change this station into an electronic music mecca that covers all grounds?

I'm sure there are hundreds of us that would absolutely love to be involved with KDL and contribute.

It's not an electronic station. KDL is a "PARTY STATION." Seems like a lot of people forget that little fact. It doesn't aspire to meet the needs of electronic fans soley. It tries to put out songs that might be found at any club, party, or such. However, I'd love it if they played more electronic and less 106.1 stuff. Seems like lately they are picking up the leftovers from 103.. or something

I'm not doubting the preferances of the general population's party soundtrack. It's just that most of the people on this board happen to be fans of EDM(duh). That's why we want EDM to be represented on the "Party Station".

But yes, people want to hear mostly hip hop every where else. But KDL does shitty hip hop. If 97.9 is canning party hip hop with a greater variety and 104.5 takes care of whatever 97.9 doesn't do, there really isn't a need for KDL is there? So wouldn't they want to represent a "party" sound that isn't already getting played(and played better) on TWO other stations?
