your attempt at funny has failed.

but yes Mia, once you get past the basics of beatmatching, you will be able to get the hang of using only the pitch fader and the only thing you might have to touch other than that is the platter to slow it down.

one thing that kills me is when i see a DJ slow a record down by touching the record. i literally cringe.

that might work for House or Prog, but not DnB. bad advice to give for this genre. timing in DnB is VERY important, and that would throw off what Nick said about count and phrasing.

as far as jungle is concerned the mixes dont have to be more than a few minuites long
buy what you like try to vary it a bit though...find what works for you...keep it up bro

Sorry, I thought it was funny. And appropriate for the given thread. And as far as letting the mix come into time by itself, why wouldn't it work for any genre? Timing is timing is timing right?

PS - My Gemini's are pretty damn horrid for ppl who aren't used to them, and I'm sorry I gave you guys shit for it.

DJ Swerve is dead.

If you get good, that would be wonderful, because we'd get to look at one of the prettiest jungle djs ever.

My advice on beat matching would be to wear pants with no zippers and you'll do excellent.

get two of the same record and play them at the same time. do it with an old disco song that isn't quantized and you will get even better.

Which also makes for some really cool (phasing?) effects, when the records come in/out of time.

i dont think anyone is trying to hate on you dude, they are just thinking logicly. these are high caliber local dj's playing for money and meanwhile you are asking questions on how to beat match. it just seems a little self destructive that you would place a bet on 99 to 1 odds. i think there are better ways to promote yourself than playing out when you are not ready. a good idea would be to invest that 25$ on some blank cd's and make yourself a dope mixtape that displays your skillz, and hand them out to some promoters.
