New DJ's Here is your opportunity.......................

For those of you who do not know, F2 HAÜS CRÜ and Scy High Collective held a small new dj contest in January. It was held in Arlington at Monte Carlos Underground, 3701 S. Cooper, Arlington, Tx 76015.

Due to the success of that contest for all parties involved... [especially the winner (DANNY_V)] we have decided to kick off an entire season of dj contests... actually a tournament of sorts!!!

--->Here are some of the details:
This event is managed solely by F2 HAÜS CRÜ.
It will be held at Monte Carlos Underground in Arlington.
The event will take place on the LAST Saturday of each month.
There will be (4) preliminary rounds and (1) final round.
The first round is THIS Saturday March 30, 2002 at 10pm.
The entry fee is $25.00. The winner of each round will receive $50 cash.

F2 HAÜS CRÜ and SCY HIGH COLLECTIVE ARE HERE TO HELP....

There will be a panel of judges from both F2 and SCY HIGH, therefore
no current members of our respective crews can participate.

Contestants will be judged according to technical ability, track selection,
and most importantly CROWD RESPONSE !!!!!

Each Set will be 45 minutes.

I have had some questions about the equipment being used for the competition... so I will post it here to answer any questions.

2 technics 1200 mk3
2 technics headshell with ortofon blk diamond (cheap)
2 Pioneer cdj 100s
1 Pioneer djm 600
1 Mackie srm 450 12" monitor

If you have any special requests (i.e. needles, mixers etc.)
I am sure we can accomodate as you will have 5 minutes
between each set to switch out equipment if necessary.

what styles are you looking for?

I have a DnB/Breaks tuntablist that will need an extra turntable (he can bring his own if need be) and will throw down a killer set.

Basically, does it have to be dancefloor friendly... if so, he can spin breaks, if not, he will go off with the true DJ SPEC style...

I'll pass the info on to him and see what he says.

Oh yeah, is there an entry fee for the crowd?

I have 2 Breaks/Trance DJs that are polishing up there skills for next months contest: Creighton Perez and DJ Elevate.

My turntablist, DJ Spec, is still thinking about the contest for this month... he's not sure wether he should go to Goldie out at Tree's or do the contest...

I'll post a reply with what he says later on tonight or tomorrow.

If he agree's to throw it down... hold on to your butts... He's been a bedroom DJ for sometime now and is one of those guys just waitng to BLOW UP in DFW. Everytime he throws down on his 3 tables... it blows my mind... especially since he spins on an aging Gemini 4 channel. (The Djm-600 is on layaway.)

You can spin whatever style you like...
However, remember that the judging is based partially on technical
ability and partially on crowd response. If you have a lot of people with
you that like DnB then you should get a good crowd response.

Our normal crowd is more of a house/breaks kind of crowd. But in the last contest Danny V promoted his Breaks set and had an overwhelming response.

Looks like we have a lineup ... If you did not get into the contest for March 30, and you still want to be in it... we have 2 slots open for April 27.

Also, there is a chance that someone won't show... If you want to be a backup show up right before 10pm and lets make sure everyone shows..
