I'm sure this is an easy question for a lot of you, but what record does the sample "What we're gonna do right here is go back..." come from?

It appears on the intro for Edgeclub's Midnight House Classic....heard it a billion times, but never knew the original track.

Sorry for my lack of schooling on this one...I should know it...

he's probably thinking about Todd Terry though who later sampled it, right? Do you want to know the origin of the sample or the popular track it was on? Although that shit was used everywhere for a couple of years.

This sample has been used gazillions of times. My best guess would be perhaps it was originally lifted off of a movie soundtrack or old radio show broadcast album.

I was originally curious what house record the sample was originally used on...

But I'll check out the James Brown live recording as well...
