Reading this on dave and how boring it is, makes me think back when he spun and recorded his Global underground CD in cape town(at Dockside) a good few years back.In the middle of his set, now I was trashed by now and had finished my set a few hours earlier, then some fool had called in a bomb threat(probably an opposition club who was doing a hard house night with nobody special headlining), they then asked everybody to leave the building...most did.Ol Dave just carried on spinning to an empty venue then he dropped a HUUUGe Brothers In rhythm remix of his and i swear 2 3rds of the venue must have raced back in to hear it.

The bomb threat ended up being a fake one and he stillgot his cd done..

Thats an awesome story. The dude is amazing and has been around for a long time.

wow man. i liked his cape town set. do you recall which track?? wasnt godspeed getting caned at that time??

that BIR mix of alanis morrissette's, uninvited, is bone chilling.

i'd love to get a copy of that record.

really?!! i love hybrid's music. both of their offerings for that track were great imo.

robert oleysyk's last record in one of his legendary 8 hour sets was the hybrid remix of carl cox's, phuture 2000.

again, amazing. their live pa's are truly remarkable.

cool, its funny i absolutely loved that track but their album then gathered dust im my record shop.I eventually put it in my sale bin to make back my cost price.That time , cape town never got into breaks ...no one spun it and even dared..i honestlydidnt like it either..now im totally plump djs,soul of man etc(thanks to my wife !)

i considered them to be more trance-breaks. they definitely had that floatiness of the big trance records going for them in those days along w/ the chunky funkiness of breaks.

great synergy of the 2.
