Aphex Twin trax...

Hola once agian fellow vinyl mongers.

I am having an ok time finding some Progressive Break Beat... but last night I did a bold and wonderful thing:

I bought the Aphex Twin "Drukqs" release on Vinyl. It cost 50 bones at Forever Young. It has 8 full length trax, a slew of interlude beats, and even a few piano riffs. I've been jamming the CD for months now, and just had to get it.

But now, I'm on the hunt for more of Senior James' works.

So, what rekkid stores around here carry any Aphex Twin?

Try Ebay for Aphex vinyl. I was introduced to electronic music by this guy and others such as Orbital, FSOL, Orb and other (ambient[IDM]) artists. My favorite records by Mr. James are "I Care Because You Do" and his early side project AFX "analog Bublebath" these were crossover albums between his pretty nondescript ambient stuff and the more crazy recent "IDM" stuff All of which I like very much. Lots of good simular music like Autechre, Boards of Canada, Squarepusher, Mu-ziq is running around if you like Mr James. Anywayz like I said, Ebay is the best bet for wierd stuff like that. Hope that helps.

MUCHOS GRACIAS!

I will begin my search on ebay then.

And I should kick myself in the head... but I missed a chance to snag a dope SquarePusher rekkid and Stakka & Skynet rekkid yesterday.

I decided to spend the dough on the Twin.

I've heard of Autechre, and Mu-ziq, but not Boards of Canada. thanx for the names.

I'll have to look for that "I care because you do" track. I love when he melds the IDM with the ambient... makes for some very unique tunes.

i was in dallas two weeks ago and there was a small indie store that had some squarepusher and boards of canada on vinyl. i didnt go through their stuff too much because i had no money anyhow and they didnt have the few things i was really lookin for (scud / vsnares).

it was named sunshine records or rainbow records or happy records or good soundin records or something like that and was somewhere within a mile or so of the deep ellum area and the unfinished parking garage downtown and that underpass with all the painted murals on it.

yep ide go there and aski for some idm if i was living there.

Hey

Which Aphex record are you looking for. I came upon a stash of records from the one and only Karl Fought. I am going through them now and selling off a bunch of stuff. I may have it.....

BoC is one of my favorite bands at the moment - more the analogue warm and fuzzy side of IDM, with a little dub and trip-hop influence.

Check out Geogaddi and Music Has the Right to Children.

I'm looking for anything Aphex that has his ambient/atmospheric DnB trax, and some more of his IDM stuff.

Basically, if it sounds similar to any Drukqs track and has a nice ambience to it, I want it.

Also, if anyone has any drukqs trax that are remixed, those are desired as well.

It might take you a while, but if you can, could you post the info on the rekkids of his you have Manndogg?

thanx peeps...

I will

i am taking my time with it, beacause it came out to be about 15 of those stackable crates, plus I am moving and going though some of my own personal stuff. i should have a list here in about a week or so. It looks like I am gonna have about 5 or 6 crates of classic house, breaks, techno, hardcore and HIP-HOP, for sale.
