Eric Scholwinski - Classic Mix Volume 2 80's.. (You all asked for it part 2)!

This is a Mix of mainly 80's & italo Disco, I posted it a day after John Vella's birthday, but he wanted it around that time.

So, here it is!

I will also add that not all italo disco is good. In fact, most of it was garbage but there were a few choice classics and not much of the rare stuff is easy to come by these days now that everyone is an overnight italo lover. The demand raises the prices so that not everyone can obtain some of these historic pieces. One thing I will say is to go out there and find your own choice selections and stay away from playlists... discover the music by buying the original records...the mp3 won't teach you shit other than binary code and how to appreciate good music under poor audio quality.

the part in the article that should resonate with a lot of folks is the pivitol role Italo played in the evolution of house music in Chicago. don't read about it, ask people around here who are a wealth of knowledge like Alvin Booth, Bill Torres, and Boo Williams about it. They will give you the real story.

You can find a lot of Re-release or original copies on www.gemm.com , that's where i get mine. or you can dig at forever young and more-than-likely pay overpriced, prices on their collection.

One of my Favorite Italo Producers is Gino Soccio.

But he kinda did both, American and Italo sounding stuff, still awesome.

Gino Soccio was not an italo producer. He was from CANADA! A lot of people especially americans were catching the euro bug, he was one of them along with another famous Canadian named Pierre Perpall and the band LIME also from Montreal.

tracklistings are nice, here is what i remember hearing in eric's 80'sish slight italo mix:

Kraftwerk - numbers
Telex - Raised by Snakes (razormaid mix)
Charlie - spacer woman (the original came out on mr disc (sub-label of Full Time then licensed to ZYX, this is a true italo classic!, I-f re-introduced it to the world so give him the credit...first guy I heard who played it)
Quando Quango - Love Tempo (been bootlegged to death and many edits have been done of this one)
Alexander Robotnick - Problèmes D'Amour - original from Fuzz Dance (licensed to USA label SIRE/Mute a huge well known italo classic by the infamous Maurizio Dami of italy...popularized in the US by the hotmix 5)
Gino Soccio - Remember
John Rocca - I want it to be Real (classic electro jam/nyc record, WBMX hot mix 5 canned it to death!)
Baricentro - Tittle Tattle - Superdance then later licenced to ARIOLA germany (italo classic!)
Chaz Jankel - Glad to Know You (ultimate classic! but so is the flip 1,000,000 synths; this guy now works with yam who! in london)
Nick Straker Band - A little bit of jazz - Prelude (ny dance classic!)
Gino Soccio - Dancer (gino's more well known record)
One Way Feat. Al Hudson I Am Under Your Spell ('79 jazz funk classic)

*nerd ass disco trainspotter mode OFF*

I'm trying to imagine what Kraftwerk produced italio would have sounded like!?
...a better version of Black Box, lol

Gino still rocks, 'I wanna take you there' would have gone nice with the Chaz Jankel
speaking of Lime, i need to get another copy of 'angel eyes'
i was almost expecting to see Gino Latino 'welcome' in the mix

still, i think my fav italio tune is
My Mine's 'hypnotic tango'
never get bored of hearing that

c'mon mento take it easy on them young kats
but yeah, i'll take digging at Forever Young
over .mp3 anyday

A) If you'd read what i posted instead of not reading, I said Mostly all my classics are on vinly, I only play *NEW* Music on all CD's.

B) Anyways, who cares, none of you "old cats" really matter to me in the whole scheme of things.

I hear music, I like it, I buy it. (Always has been always will be the source of selling music)
