Waves Diamond Bundle.....

is freaking sick.

The 2 most useful things are....

MaxxBass - Which generates a "fundamental" harmonic frequency for sub bass to make it more audible. This way you don't make the common mistake of turning your sub up too loud, thus robbing amps of all their power and killing you high end, plus you can actually hear the fundamental on smaller speakers and crappier sound systems that can't handle some serious 50hz rumble!

L1 + Ultramaximizer - When applied to your master out, will beef up your sound more than Barry Bonds on steroids, w/o allowing it to clip.. (Assuming you know what you're doing and have your input level appropriate.)

Just tried them and I wanted to share with the world how badass they really are.

darrend

p.s. the EQ's are about as transparent as you can buy on the modern market, also. Had to throw that in.

Wow... How'd I forget about the C4!! Yes.. This 4-band Comp. is freaking sick as well. These guys must have sold their souls to the Gods of mastering! I love how you can perform surgery with the eq's as well. Something my other 16 band parametric eq I was using could not do. Makes is relatively easy to find problematic frequencies (Usually in the neighborhood of 250Hz) and execute them like the TX prison system.

peace..

Do you have a protools hd1, hd2, hd3, or mix plus system. If not you need native

yea, you can adjust the q really tight on the waves, if I need something more precise sometimes I'll take a GRM bandpass, flip it to reject, and dial it in (TIP!) you can drill a hole in anything like that (buzzes, ground hum, etc)

TDM is what Protools uses on its own dedicated pci processor cards, keeps the load off the internal processor, Native would be RTAS, VST, using the computer processor.

I use three of the plugs on the diamond bundle, but thats about it. I honestly haave a/b'd them with my UAD1 plugs and they just dont cut it for me....

except....

Ren Compressor limiter- i havn'y found anything that will do a nice opto compression like this plug does. It has fatens the sound in a way i havnt heard from any other plug.

2 tap delay- The UAD1 has shitty delays soo yeah this is the way to go.

SSL Channel strip- No comparison to any plug, fantastic!!!

It's what they call a "Linear Phase" eq. (yes, they do have a Q adjustment) Typical multiband parametric eq's tend to have adverse effects on audio. (The waves people call these problems "Smearing" and "Masking") The problem with 'smearing' and 'masking' ultimately is "phase shifting", and using the linear phase eq helps these problem's thus creating a much more natural, or "transparent" eq.

One of the things that top mastering houses do that is not possible in most studios is "phase correction." So, by using these eq's, you greatly reduce "phase shifts" that can degradate your audio.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I learned on PT, but I don't own it...the only thing Native I have is Traktor Dj 3... I assume native instruments makes a multi track recording program.

Or is this a different Native?
