![]() | Electro talk
So this is only like my 2nd post....it may go down in a blaze of steaming shit. Since I am looking to see if there is much representation in the electro genre out here ( Dallas) I figured I would start a thread about it. It may be successful and pull some closet electro lovers out or I may get the obligatory "STFU NoOB!" Either way, I now bring you a discussion of 808 proportions; So as not to sound like a know it all, tool bag, electro purist I figure I will start by presenting something that most anyone with roots in EDM can relate to. The follwoing is presented by a friends digital distribution store: Dynamix II is name that easily recognized by any fan of EDM. No matter what "genre" or sub- Genre you are into chances you know of at least one Dynamix II song. ![]() For Immediate Release: Dynamix II signs exclusive deal with Fiberlineaudio.com / Itunes Miami's Legendary Duo David Noller (Scratch-D) and Scott Weiser (Jackal), aka Dynamix II, are among a very few of the first wave of American electro and bass music artists to have successfully translated their old-school credentials into new-school relevance. The producers behind classic roof-raisers "Bass Generator", "Feel the Bass", "Ignition," and (the Gold Release selling over 800,000 units to date) "Just Give the DJ a Break," carved out a signature niche in early electro with a kitchen-sink-style megamix approach, amplifying electro's energy level, deepening the low-end, and playing up its robotic themes with ample vocoded vocals. Not since Dynamix II's past release on Aphex Twins Rephlex recording label in 1998, has such an definitive collection ever been offered. The first release, Greatest Hits Vol One & Two will bring the most classic Dynamix II moments into the online digital realm for the very first time. Dynamix II will also be releasing their new album fall 2006 exclusively on Fiberlineaudio.com / itunes. Dynamix II's exclusive releases have been digitally remastered and are only available online from Fiberlineaudio.com 06.08.06 and itunes 07.04.06. They are your future!...and your past. Maximum Respect" - KEITH TENNISWOOD (TWO LONE SWORDSMEN / RADIO ACTIVE MAN) U.K. "If you look at the career these two have had, the ground-breaking tunes they have made and their dedication to Electro-Funk, I nominate them for heads of 'Bassline Security' in the United States. Maximum Respect! - RENNIE PILGREM U.K. "Dynamix II are by far the AmBASSadors of bass." - PARIS THE BLACK FU, 'DETROIT GRAND PUBAHS' U.S. "Dynamix II's 'Just Give The DJ A Break' is an all time classic and their music has just kept getting hotter throughout the years." - DJ GODFATHER Detroit "Dynamix II, the original Techno Bass Masters. Miami's finest Electro Duo, unstoppable for nearly 2 decades" - PHIL KLIEN (BASS JUNKIE) U.K. "The Saga continues with the Brain Cracking Beats & the Ear Drum Shattering sounds of the Electro Duo of Doom, Dynamix II; You've been warned!" - OMAR SANTANA U.S. "Dynamix II has been a huge staple in the beginning of my DJ career, their Feel the Bass/Techno Bass 12" was the first record I ever bought as a DJ. Their track Ignition is one of my all time favorite songs. You just knew when a new Dynamix record was coming out, that it was going to be heavy" - AK1200 "Dynamix II is an awesome duo that bang out some of the heaviest beats around!" - TOM TOM ( AUX 88 ) "I'll never forget the first time I heard "Feel the Bass", the Bass got under my skin. Thunderous & life changing, I still have the original 12". One of the Innovators of the Techno Bass sound, Dynamix II knows how to DROP IT!" - DJ MONK (RABBIT IN THE MOON) More Electro and Breaks coming in July: ![]() www.fiberlineaudio.com |

Diving deeper into the more refined side of Electro I would highly suggest checking out an artist by the name of 214 (Tampa, FL) He is a featured artist on the hit roster of artists @ http://www.mikrolux.com/ also found on www.airecords.com He also heads a show called "Head Space" featured on www.proton radio.com There are archived sets from past guests as well as some killer sets by 214 himself. I highly suggest 214- Evening In Rhythm Nodes it is a lush soundscape, with heavy bassline and melodic synths. Here is the direct link to 214's various sets.- http://www.zebox.com/214 For another great representation in the electro genre check out a great Dallas local Mariel Ito a.k.a Maetrik at http://www.connaisseur-recordings.com/ Last edited by Keyser Soze; 06-19-06 at 08:30 PM. |

untchble 1, how do you go from these jokers to an artist like Mariel Ito in the same thread anyhow? Im sure Eric appreciates the plug, buuuuut....uhhh... yea, thats all i got. I love electro, but anytime I see the words electro, breaks, and florida together I usually run far far away, baring few exceptions like Andrea Parker, she's pretty dope. |

well, I listened to some Dynamix tracks... and, the tracks had a Magic Mike / DJ Icey feel to them... not my cup of tea, but the mainstream and/or younger audiences might enjoy them... "Miami's Legendary Duo".....I'd rather listen to Exzact ![]() (oh well, off to find a Dynarec stream)

Exzakt, has progressed into a huge talent in the elctro scene. Since coming back to the states, from his long tour Anthoiny Rother, I think his style and sound have progressed to huge levels. ( But even his roots and style are heavily influenced by the original Miami sound)

either way, their picture is just plain silly, and their beats are wack. just my opinion. you can write me off as uninformed or whatever but ive worked on records for reflex back in the late 90's and even some on Skam (autechre's label), Warp, etc, so its whatever really.some of the mixes on zebox are good though untchble_1, so thanks for the tip ![]() someone else
