Altiverb- kicks much ass

By far the dopest Reverb Plug I have ever used. It uses Impulse Responses taken from all sorts of environments to create the space. You can record your own Impulse Response, capturing the reverb of any environment then Altiverb creates a patch of that room/space. VERY COOL SHIZ. I have actual Impulse Responses and presets for the Notre Dame, Carnigee Hall, inside a car, shoe, etc.

Sampling acoustic spaces for Music

If you want to obtain the highest possible quality in your acoustic samples (Impulse Responses), you are limited to AC powered gear, but the basic method is the same: You playback sine sweeps (included) via a good studio monitor, record the sweep in the room with mics, feed the recordings to the IR Pre Processor Application, and you have a sample of a room. The longer the sweep you use, the higher the signal to noise ratio. The IR PreProcessor can handle 300 second sweeps so you can get clean Impulse Responses even in noisy environments. Sampling reverb gear

Audio ease offers samples of classic reverb gear on the IR Website But you can sample gear yourself. Just playback a sine wave sweep through the equipment and record its outputs. Feed the recordings to the IR Pre Processor Application, and you have a sample of the preset.


For Film

You can playback 10 second sine sweeps (included) from a CD on a boombox at a film set, record the sweep with microphones, feed the recordings to the IR Pre Processor Application, and you have a sample of the room for use in ADR and foley.

Recording a sample this way happens at unoffending levels, so it is no problem if the crew is present. You can capture acoustics this way in a matter of seconds.


Portable, self powered playback equipment can be used. Audio Ease has sampled boomboxes to be able to make up for the ugly characteristics of their speakers.
