For fans of Motor City electro this one will be pretty hard to ignore, taken to the next level with the inclusion of vocal tracks and a steady diet of midtempo electro breaks that puts this EP right at the vanguard along with those classic Drexciya release he had a hand in. COBBLESTONE JAZZ - DUMP TRUCK - WAGON REPAIR
(Mathew Jonson, Danuel Tate & Tyger Dhula drop their first collaboration for Wagon Repair. Previously you've seen the trio on Itiswhatitis, but this release is leaps and bounds bigger than any of their prior tunes. "Dump Truck" sounds a lot like Jark Prongo's "Zonic Dance" with a killer funky tracky and slightly filtering groove, tough funky beats and a nasty bassline. Three quarters of the way through the tune some slick jazzy keys come in to take the track to a whole new level "Peace Offering" on the flip is a deep house number of the highest order with a full vocoded vocal part and a perfect marriage of live instrumentation and jazzy electronics. TIP!!!

(The Future Classic imprint continues it's momentum with this wonderful Future Classic Attractions 12" sampler from the upcoming full length focusing on Australias emerging talent. First up is the dub influenced & soulful broken beats from Eddit (Freestyle/Equatorial). Next up Rumpski drops a huge boogie hip houser with it's huge bassline then flips the script halfway through for an old school Metro Area-ish influenced vibe. On the flip we get a deep late nite affair from Deepchild that reminds us of early Compost & Straight Ahead material. Closing things up is Touch Sensitive with their take on the modern disco resurgence that's gonna take you back to the NY Kiss FM days when they played real boogie! TIP!!!)

(MODAL is back! For its fifth release MODAL returns with the artist who kicked it all off, Brennan Green. Brennan's last production, his debut offering on his very own Chinatown imprint has struck a chord with the likes of Chicken Lips, Thick As Thieves and the rest of the Rong crew. Here Brennan delivers two timeless slices of brilliant mutant dissonant disco. On "Bunko" we are treated to Brennan's signature rhythms, progressions, and effects that have come to charactarize his unique sound. "Divsadero" takes listeners to the deep end of Green's musical meanderings, a composition that is complete, beautiful, ethereal, and classic.
