Hey man, as long as you are satisfied, happy ,and able to write some phat tracks, who gives a flying fuck what you are using to produce. Nobody listening to your CD in the car, your mp3 on the web, or your wax in the club is gonna give a shit what you produced it with.....if they feel the track, they will like it. However, I did read about this version of Cubase and it sounds to me like they stepped up to the plate on this one....good luck and happy sound tweakin'. doug d

first off.. optech, i need my cubase getting started guide.... 2nd... yes cubase sx now has a much better automation control.. you can read/write automation now, and you can also draw parameter lanes right in the arrangement window (you can draw envelopes: pan, volume, fx sends, mutes, eq, etc, etc) very nice I say again, cubase sx rocks (it really fixes alot of the problems with vst 5) even though there are one or two minor annoying differences |

As logic windows OWNER I must give props to Steinberg on their offer to Logic Windows users the day after the Apple sale. If anyone has not heard about this you can purchase Cubase SX for $299 and keep your copy of Logic 5(XSKey dongle etc.). This is not only generous of them but quite smart as well as they are now the head of the class on the Windows platform. I am going to stick with Logic on my p4 for now and then wait to see if the G5 will ever come out and what Apple does with Logic before investing in a Mac. Stienberg's offer also probably had a little help in Emagic's subsequent announcement of FREE crossgrades for windows users. I hope they also let you keep your windows version as the cross grade offer only lasts from August till December which is probably before I will make my decision on purchasing a Mac. ... Cubase SX looks great ... but I love my logic audio. |
