That may depend on what generation of lap top it is, I couldnt say my self. The only recent problem I'm aware of is the sweeling battery on some 17 inch models.

i actually want a PC Notebook, i just don't want Vista. but i'm looking at Apple too.

When did that change?

My buddies mac can't burn DVDs anymore because of the speed and +/- thing not being the same as current media.
His machine is prolly a good 7-10years old, though.
