BD Slide has/had one. It sounded okay....at best. He also ran into
issues with the recording length.

It felt like it was very poorly
built and cheap. I would explore more options...

bad meters too.

yeah i was looking at how i would be able to tell if it's clipping and when to acttually stop turning the record volume up...

they have a Ikey Plus, supposed to be pretty updated, but who knows?

I'm needing one to record live mixes (for Dank Audio in the other thread I deleted)

Friend of mine had a problem with his (don't recall what it was exactly) that Gemini tech support was baffled by.

He eventually returned it to GC.

I got a hold of Chris, he bought a Iriver t30 1g mp3 player / recorder.

said it works great for recording mixes etc...

Think i'm gonna get the 512mb One for $30 to see how it works.

Eric -- i used to have one of those Irivers that can record...worked pretty well dude. recorded to mp3, and then you can just dl it to your harddrive & master it in whatever software you're using.

easy...

I've used an iriver mp3 player for the last 2 years for portable recording ... I don't think you can see any meters for clipping but i would always just set the input level low (on the recorder) and then normalize it after the fact in soundforge. You can set it up to record at 128, 192 or 320k (at the least the one I have does).

I use a first gen MiniDisc, and I love it. If you use it on the "sp" mode it sounds great (lower compression), and you can see your levels as well. ebay it, they are cheap
