for the money, the cdj800, if u have the money to spend, get the cdj1000s ONLY if u intend on using them to their fullest extent, if not do urself a favor and get the cdj800s. the scratch on the denon's just dont sound as crisp as the pioneers. i think the denons only backspin 2 seconds, which is lame, if this isnt correct, someone please correct me and tell me how to set it so i can change them at work. the main thing the denons offer over pioneer is lightening fast load time, they load the music before the digital info on the screen, the pioneer line seems to load both at the same time, which might take a second or two in the mix, but sometimes thats what u need to cue the right time. the denons also have effects, but mess up the timecode signal if u are using serato, torq, or traktor sometimes, if just audio, they are decent. but overall, i'd go with pioneer for the closest to vinyl sound, the denons offer a rotating platter, but can be hard to keep up with if u take them everywhere, and i personally know that denon customer support sucks when something isnt right with thier product, just look it up in thier other dj forums, or check customer feedback. the denons make more commission than pioneer, but working at gc, id rather see dj's doing themselves a favor by getting the right product. |

i'd go with the CDJ-200's (since i don't care for "scratching" etc. best bang for your buck, unless like Gilbert said, you can afford the 800's or 1000's.

yeah, the 200s are dope if u dont need the vinyl emulation. the cdj800 vs the denon dns3500 = same price cdj1000's = 600 bux more the cdj200s = 300 less than the 800s and dns3500. *edit, i just realized we are comparing the 5000s, i had the 3500s in mind the whole time, i dont have much experience with the dns5000s, but i know they can auto mix and retail for like 200 bux more than the 800, but 300 bux less than the cdj1000s. |

i've played on the 3500's and 5000's, didn't really care for em too much... also played on all models of pioneer's and honestly, you really can't beat em.. It's like the old argues: Techs vs Stanton / whatever else, you get whats the best and that's Pioneer for CD players, Techs for TT's. but in the end, it's really all personal preference.

I'm very happy with my Denon 3500's and I think it's vinyl mode is more true than the Pioneer's Gilbert, not sure why yous at work only back-cue for 2 seconds I can spin mine backwards through the whole track... but, unless you scratch I would just get a pair od CDJ-200's

not sure bro, never had to change a setting to get it to behave the way it does... I do experience on occassion an issue with back-cueing where it stops, but then I just move the platter forward a little and then try going backwards again and it unfreezes the back-cueing...but that is just a glitch and it only does it on one of mine...
