i can definitely see how thats true.

i went early to a few bars in Greenville like yall suggested and nothing. guess i'll just have to be persistent and keep going to different bars/clubs.

I think threatening club owners and talent bookers is usually effective too

it helps if you can get some good information about their personal lives as well to include - its always more efffective when you send a demo home with a kiddo from daycare with a note attached indicating how much you'd like to play... probably even more than they'd like to see their child again....

same for you. i dig a few of the things youve done on c4djs too.

kinda funny working a 4-6 night sched. i dont get a chance to really hear anyone else... but i have heard quite a few horror stories from managers/owners/bartenders.

i tend to not judge as much cause i know people always have bad nights here and there... but when the trend is negative it does make me cringe.

personally im getting a bit burned out over the summer. been 5-6/wk over the past month

talk about being extremely bored playing 4-6 nights a week...

i remember when i was doing 3 sometimes 4 nights a week and that shit got old REAL fast.

now if it was in a different city each time, that would be fun.

i only judge when i see its a trend, cuz we have all had bad nights, but when you are wrecking a bunch of times its pretty sad. i would get burned out too, i only work 2 nights a week, but im thinking of getting more stuff and just quitting my day job.

and yeah eric, if everynight was a different city i would be in heaven lol

p.s david if there is any of our stuff on c4djs you want let me know ill pm you my myspace address

Make sure there is lots of "hooks" and stuff for people to sing along. The less complex the better. No one wants to hear eclectic stuff.

Put some eye liner on and a Von Dutch trucker hat, take pictures and plaster that shit all over myspace. You might take some photos of you posing behind the decks, regardless if you can beat match or not. Eye-liner and a white skinny tie would be great here!

Then what you do is give a CD out to everyone with a flyer that points people to your website. Put some sort of chick on there thats halfway naked. But random blurbs about what people have said about your mixing skills. Doesn't matter if they've said it or not.

Make sure that you kiss the promoters and club owners asses. Show them your flyer and give them your mix. Just keep bugging them.

Before you know it you will have full fledged tours across the world with your name in lights opening for Tiesto! It's all in how you market yourself. Actually being able to mix two records together is all subjective.
High Larious!!!!
