| Oxygen 8 MIDI Controller
Anyone used one? I am thinking of grabbing one of the USB controllers to use with Reason etc. Just wondering what people's opinions were on them.. also, where would be the cheapest place to grab one? PSSL has it for $140.. and I'd rather not buy it on eBay. =P peace Last edited by zen2k; 11-09-02 at 03:37 AM. |

I've got an Oxygen 8. It's a decent midi controller for the price. Velocity sensitive keyboard, 8 assignable knobs, USB interface that allows you to also use it as a midi out port for external gear control (note, it has no midi in port). It is however fairly cheaply constructed (but hey, what do you expect for something this inexpensive) and lacks some features that would be nice to have (mainly, the ability to store knob configurations to some sort of non-volatile memory so you don't have to reprogram the thing every time you turn it on). But overall, for the price, you can't really complain. I like mine and use it daily |

I don't use Reason cause I don't enjoy it's interface so I can't speak for it's users. For the kind of stuff I do, Fruity works much better and the Oxy8 works great with it, as well as with any outboard effects I use alot such as my Electrix Filterfactory or any of my EMU sound modules. I like how easy it is to work with effects plug-ins inside Fruity, and with the Oxy8 it's as simple as tweaking a knob to assign an effect like cutoff, res, or LFO depth. Also, the Oxy8 is very portable and doesn't require a power source (if used with USB). Fun little fella.
