![]() | Need help linking up two computers for Cubase SX the right way!!
here's what i have... -p4 1.6ghz processor -768 RAM -MOTU 828 -i have roland usb interface.. with a keyboard controller -also have hardware linked up to be sequenced in my main computer.. the other computer has.... -1Ghz AMD athlon processor -256 RAM i want to set up the AMD computer with V-stack and just use it mainly to run my VSTs.... BUT... my main question is... do i need midi support for the AMD computer?? since i already have it on my main computer?? or can i just get by with a sound card with optical/digital I/Os??(Since my MOTU has optical and s/pdif support) I don't just run VSTs... I also have hardware instruments to be sequenced...(i think it would be best to just run the VST on the "other" computer and then record and sequence(including hardware) on the other computer) here are some examples of the cards i'm trying to decide between.. http://kellysmusic.mb.ca/productinfo...d=477117512&r= http://kellysmusic.mb.ca/productinfo...d=952&aff=none thanks for the help!!!

well, you're probably going to need MIDI support for your other computer (but the sound card should take care of that anyway) since you're going to be controlling the AMD computer by your proper computer. As long as your soundcard in both computers has MIDI In/Out controllers, then you should be fine. However, I'm not 100% sure how you would have to set up the VST programs on the AMD computer.
