| Another software question.
Im trying to track-out a couple of live mixes I cut last week, if someone could point me in the right direction, as far as software goes, I would be most grateful. Peaces Kyle E |

I might be doin it a hard way but this what I do. I cut the tracks off in soundforge. Name them. Take off the gap in between tracks on the burning software(they all usually have that option). Burn them in order.

yes you are doing it the hard way. actuall all of you that are replying to this thread are doing it the hard way. if you have to use two or more programs to do this then you are doing it the hard way. if you are cutting and pasting and saving then you are doing it the hard way. i would suggest just using cool edit pro 2.0. you will be able to record, set track marks, delete any dead space, and burn it with the same program. this process only takes about an hour and a half to do. i am including the time to mix the set, track it, and burn it. if you need any other info about this leave a message on here. i am sure i will get back with you. o yea one more thing, cool edit pro 2.0 will give you the option to save the files in alot of different formats... one luv, joseph n | |

yea but cool edit pro, or now known as, adobe audition, you can do way more then just record, and drop cue marks. this is a total audio editing application. anything you want to do to audio files, you can do with this program. yea you might be able to record with wavelab, but what is the sampling rate you can record at, and resolution? also what formats can you save a audio file, or sample, or whatever? there are too many for me to list on cool edit pro, or also known as, adobe audition. maybe it is just what you want to do with it. o yea you can also use soundforge, so i dont want anyone to think i am just trying to push one application. soundforge and cool edit/adobe audition are both super programs, and they do about the samething. somethings soundforge can do that cool edit/adobe audition cant, and vice versa... one luv, joseph n. |

i would have to agree that wavelab is the way to go... and to answer some of your questions infected.. 32 Bit Floating Point processing up to 192 kHz Powerful Audio Montage features Real-time audio processing plug-ins Professional sampler support and CD writing Integrated batch processing Audio database from: http://www.steinberg.net/en/products...ndex.php?sid=0 they're all great programs. really its just preference and what plug-in formats you wish to utilize. another *note* soundforge is now under sony's wing.. although they diddn't change the name. http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/news/1770/#body |

^^^^ yea i hear what you are saying. man i was thinking that wavelab was a different program then it is. i was getting it confused with something else. yea all of them are great to use. my bad guys, i didn't want to sound like i was bashing it, but if it was the program i was thinking of, cant think of the name, it would have been better to use a tape recorded to record a mix. thanks for the valuable info moshen... one luv, joseph n. |
