thinking of getting one to learn to make my own tunes...just wondering what people's opinions are on some of these...soundforge, reason, etc. who's used them, what do you think of them? edit: I know they're fairly expensive and not as good as owning actual hardware, but I don't have the money or the space for a real studio. |

i will say this..... they all have their pros and cons.. and i know the board doesnt support this but you can get ripped copies of almost all software.....do this to see what you like best. reason seems to be the easiest to learn with if you have NO clue at all. if you can get someone to sit you down for a few hours and show you logic or cubase i promise you will not be dissappointed. also a good tip that was relayed to me: "dont just use one program for all production" each one of them is a tool....a brush in your arsenal...if you use them all you come up with some amazing effects. also anyone can make a loop...its the arrangement that seperates the men from the boys...imo trial and error. |
