Damn. Meridian is a bad ass place. I'd go to this if I were there. And I'm not even really a fan of RITM. I love Houston.

It's not like that Maceo. I can see how the point could be misinterpreted though. When I lived in Dallas - I didn't know much about the houston scene outside of big names like Carnahan, etc. I certainly did not know Esteban Torres, Frosty, James Cho, etc. - although I do now. Conversely, the same can be said from the other way around. Not every houston EDM lover knows who Rich Hellburg, Tim Cox and others are (nothin but love Richie and T-Fuse!). Anyhow - derailing thread here. Just stating that there are good people involved in the scene in both cities. No harm - no foul. peas.

| You gotta admit..
The Rabbit logo is so catchy....I've always loved it.....BUT.. you're right, they have been doing the same thing for a while. Why arent they putting out new stuff I wonder..I remember when I got the double wax when I lived in Orlando. It had Floorida and some unreal shi* on it......I miss those days...

Personally, I appreciate the Houston scene for different reasons. There's alot more humility there, because gigs are harder to come by. There are also alot of veterans still playing weekly. Wes Wallace, Mike Snow, Michael Degrace (who showed me the House ropes in 1987), etc... They don't have to worry about afterhours because they can stay open till the wee hours, which also creates a whole new vibe. They also don't corner specific genres as much. The monthly RENT party is a blast and you will hear multiple genres through the night with no elitism. Dallas has alot more big names come through, and of course the House scene here blows away most cities. There seem to be alot more gigs here, but there are also alot more DJs. People from Dallas are going to bag and talk shit about Houston, and I'm sure people from Houston talk about how they hate Dallas. I started DJing in Houston in 1982 and loved it through 99. Dallas has been wonderful for me since I moved here in 2000 from Houston, but after experiencing both, if a steady daytime radio position like the one I have currently opened up in Houston, you can bet your ass I'd seriously consider trekking back that way and working the Houston nightlife again. Elevated Beat - Don't hesitate to hit me up if your looking for a D-Town DJ to do a show there sometime on a Saturday. It's only a 5 hour drive and my family has a place in Clear Lake to stay. I'd be more than down. Back to the thread... Good luck on NYE. I'm sure it will be great.

Three A.M's abnd Luna Sol's remixs of that track, that appear on that album are timeless. If you like that, and if you dont already have it...get the cd, of F.L.O.O.R.I.D.A....it has a hiden track on there. Its pianist rendition of that track done by David Christopher....beautiful track.

I dont think there is any more expectation than there used to be for derrick may (who never really delivered an album or extended EP as promised) or sasha----who made the same mistake of promising an abum for years and years, but finally did and survived the full color spectrum of critique it got. i dont think they could hit a grand slam at this point unless they just went out with one full DVD of videos and live footage + a video + dj mix / collection of all full length tracks dne as a studio mix / and a mini album of unreleased aka new material.......and then ax the project all together and move on. do one final tour of like only 5 shows.....one final Ultra. a first and FINAL collection......and goodbye. even daft punk are moving on from the stadium house set (their last show beinf a couple of weeks ago) and have been doing loads f things keeping in pace with the modern underground. the underground electronic world has surfaced (again) and its beautiful thing. its thriving bigger than ever like it first did in the early 90's (just a bit different). doing things like the rock industry convinced our scene to do thru the late 90's just isnt the way anymore....... for the next half decade at least. RITM missed a window, but by no means is anything shut for dave (and bunny) I know where I will be, this NYE. H-town.

| Om | It's not a huge place like you would normally expect RITM to play, but it holds alot more than 350. Think of it this way... Orchid Bar's capacity was something like 49 people. Dunno if you ever went there, but there was about 4 times that on a slower night.
