cool. the art show that's up right now is pretty awesome. Brad brought a bunch more hand blown glass art that's way sick... we all realize that we can't serve minors alcohol for obvious reasons.

ya know when i was a teenager i wised up real fast and learned how to fit in and do my thing discreetly and responsibly. i'm not encouraging anyone to break laws or whatever. Just letting the minors know that if you can act like an adult then you'll get treated like one and you can kick it. if we have minors show up that break our rules or act a fool they will be removed from the festivities. we don't have the time or patience for disrespect ya know. one day when you are a promoter or something i'm sure you'll understand where we're coming from. we were all 17 before so we know the scoop. come have some fun. treat people with respect and it'll be reciprocated.

Okay so far the caravan from Houston consists of the following:

Jacob + His Friend
Brad + Possibly his G/F

So that's 8 people from HTown so far.. Possibly more. Thats just the group thats coming up in Rachel and my cars.

Since you've made a veiled attempt of cross-promoting on my thread... I'm curious if you're going to allow our patrons free access to your event for the final 2 hours (2a-4a)?

You made no attempt in contacting me about after hours plans that were arranged on my part. That lacks class IMO.

As we all know, nothing in life is free, including the alcohol at our open bar. So no one gets in for absolutely nothing! All attendees are responsible for some type of contribution, no matter what time they show up! Nor do OUR patrons EXPECT to get into your show for free as well, which many of my friends are going to your show ALSO. I was dissapointed personally, not being able to catch bretts set, as we have had him out years and years ago for some of our past shows!! And as for cross promotion on ddm, I have seen it hundreds of times and have had it done on my threads many times!! Even you have a link to upcoming events and myspace affiliation located under your username on my threads. Personally my opinion is POST AWAY!! DDM is a forum for communicating dance culture. As for after hour plans, I have not seen or heard of ANYONE planning anything afterhours, except us. If so, I apologize, didn't mean to disrespect you and your thread. Hell, most people are just excited about having it bumped, and discussed!! Just letting people know that when your show is done, come on by and have some drinks, for we will be going till the early am, beyond 4 am. RIGHT UP THE ROAD!!! You can even bring Brett by with records in hand, we have a place for him sometime between 4am and 6am. People shouldn't drive all over town drunk anywayz on nye!! Kind of risky these days!!! Lots and Lots of Po Po's and riff-raff!! Especially near lower greenville!!!

OK, thanks for the apology. Just because you haven't seen after hours info doesn't mean it does not exist. If you're going to cross-promote thats how you do business and Im not here to stop you. I cross-promote as well but with the backing of whom Im doing it with (usually non-conflicting dates or genres). I sincerely hope your event does well as many of my friends will be in attendance, as well as participate....but I felt you could have approached it differently. I respect everyones endeavors including direct competition but I also use diligence and etiquette in doing so...

P.S. Contrary to your logic, If someone steals from me it doesn't justify me stealing from someone else. However, you and I have a mutual friend i spoke to earlier and they helped me understand your train of thought. Going forward I would be more than happy to work with and help inform people of your events.. Just ask. Peace.

i'm going to more than one event NYE & i don't feel bad about it at all. feels pretty good actually.

This issue has never been about a lack of confidence but rather about etiquette thats all. Its NYE so all shows will be good as far as im concerened. You can easily apply confidence issues to the other person(s) needing to cross-promote to gain more exposure. I didnt take that approach, as you have assumed on my part. I am a peaceful being and shall remain so.... im no hypocrite to being a man of peace, that subject is no laughing matter for me.

I have never made such a statement about where people should go. I think you may have misinterpreted my point. I was NOT equating to what he did to stelaing, but rather just pointing out if someone does "anything" in life to you doesnt justify doing it to someone else. Make sense? I could have used the words hitting, lying, starring, spitting, etc. I guess the word "stealing" was too misleading under the circumstances so I'm glad you brought that up.

Glad to hear your hopping around. I plan to do it as well. I have never tried to "force flow". If I'm minding my own business speaking on my own thread for my own event but then someone else comes on my thread and "essentially" says : Hey, sounds like a good show but you should also check out my show too! Same night right up the street from this party! Oh and bring your artist with you.....Yet you claim that I'm the one trying to force flow??? You're backwards. I distinctly recall stating that many of my friends are doing the same as you and i both in terms of multiple events. You are making assumptions that are not warranted i feel.

All in all Universol and myself have spoken in private and in public forum clearing the air for the issues at hand. We are in complete harmony and we should not re-hash closed subjects. I realize you want to make your points and thats completely your right, but its over now.

honestly, i just came back on to delete my other post. cause really it isn't my business. you guys worked it out. now we know both can cross pollinate dallas.

i caught a cold on the santa rampage this wknd and i alternate between fever and overmedication. so um, sorry if i stirring up anything.

well after a while you don't take cross-promoting so personally. the more events you do, the more confidence you have that Dallas has enough bodies to go around. some promoters are very good friends with other promoters cause you realize we have more in common than different.

when an event stands out, ppl come & they text their entourage. they aren't lock-ins. we can't control chaos, we just ride the wave.

my thread/ your thread is meaningless when sig lines cross that boundary. this is a PUBLIC board. u want to keep it underground, then do that. but don't expect the internet to keep any secrets.
