Last week, Plumm opened with all the celebrity fanfare expected from a celeb-owned club, with owners including Noel Ashman, Chris Noth, Damon Dash, and supermodel Petra Nemcova.
As in any opening, the glitzy celeb-names were used as part of the allure. It gives the buzz. It draws the right kind of crowd.
Only one problem. It turns out that the sexy Petra Nemcova, well, kinda sorta might not have been affiliated with the club after all.
According to the NY Daily News Gatecrasher:
"The Czech stunner has sicced her lawyers on Plumm club owner Noel Ashman over his use of her name to promote the nightspot. The last straw was a story (and full-page picture) that appeared in the fact-challenged New York Post Friday claiming she was launching the club with Ashman…"
"Petra has absolutely no connection, financial or otherwise, with the Plumm," her rep told the Daily News. "She never authorized Noel Ashman (or any other person) to use her name or photograph to promote the club or any of its events. She has accordingly instructed her attorneys to investigate taking legal action against Mr. Ashman."
