Whether you love DJ lists or hate 'em, they always make for a good debate. To add some fuel to the fire, in the club mecca of Ibiza, DJ Times unveiled their inaugural America's Best DJ award.

The winner?

None other than NYC local Jonathan Peters.

“I’m truly honored,” said Peters. “All the DJs nominated are amazing and we all have mutual respect for each other. I feel blessed to make a living doing what we love, there’s nothing like bringing music to people who love it.”

The awards were announced at, where else, Ibiza's Privilege, which still boasts the title of the world's largest nightclub. Over 20,000 voters sounded off in the DJ Times poll. Rounding out the Top 5:

4. Deep Dish

5. Erick Morillo
