![]() | Been to the CP Forums lately? No? You're missing what amounts to the greasy, 4 am diner, the one you hit after a night of sloppy dancing. The greasy diner where you tell your friends EVERYTHING, like how you spilled Peroni on your cell phone and "accidentally" made out with that troll. To catch you up, we've rounded up some recent highlights, and from time to time we chime in. Some are informative, some funny, some stupid. Some might--might--qualify as English. Thread: Starving at Clubs chanman7483: I always have a big dinner before a long nite out hehateme: careful! that could lead to a disco dump, i hate those! You know, disco dumps aside, bella53081 actually makes an outstanding point. Why don't we have more food at clubs? As longtime poster silverbull points out later in the thread, sure, some of the old school clubs like Sound Factory would serve food. And yeah, maybe high-end restaurant/lounges like Spice Market and Butter serve dinner, but that's not the same thing as place like, say, Stereo offering bite-size snacks around 2 am. Everyone wins. The clubbers get food. The clubs get more money. Let's make this happen. Thread: 1st Time Clubber Help Ahhhwww. Well that just tugs the heartstrings. First off, Carlos, you get big Ups for the post. Not everyone can admit it when they need help. (Like me and gambling.) Here are some things that we recommend not wearing. This is gonna sound a little low-brow, but a surprisingly great place to get "clubbing" clothes is H&M. Sure, the threads will fall apart in 12 months, but by then they'll be out of style, anyway. Go there with the two best-looking girls you know. Tell them you need fashion advice, and most likely they'll jump at the chance to help. Surrender to their advice. Use their judgment, not yours. Remember, it's not important how you feel in the clothes, it's how you look in the clothes. When it comes to fashion, always trust others, never trust your gut. Thread: Vegas - Great Door Quotes
DJ MasterWeb: "These nike's cost over $100!" and "We have 15 guys in this bachelor party. Don't we get a group discount?" Lalate: My buddy (serious): "lalate, how does bottle service work? Once you get in, how they gonna know you got a bottle? Cant you just run for it?!" Greenie: Overheard at the Tao door, the Thursday following LDW, a group of guys asking a host about their bottle minimum: "Does water count?"(this question was asked in a serious tone) Thread: Best t-shirt slogans? I have the thing. An alum of the Clubplanet staff, a designer named Matt Rowean, actually has some pretty sweet tees. It's called "Stryker NYC." You can get 'em here. Thread: Kevin Federline Huh. Thread: tattoo - do your parents know? Emjay: i have "thuglife" tattooed across my belly...my mom loves it. Thread: Puffy Eyes shaina143: You can also cut up thin slices of cucumbers and put them in the freezer for a little bit... Then take them out and place on the eyes for 10 minutes... jdiprenda: To reduce puffiness, try ReVive Eye Renewal cream. Its $110, but its the best stuff on the market. Come visit me at Saks and I'll take care of you. Tommyl: Just put cold tea bags over your eyes, it reduces swelling right away... Thread: Tucked in or untucked shirts? jtjones -- Never, ever tuck. Even the wonderbread guys on Dockers commercials don't tuck in their shirts. And, um, yeah, it "hurts the dancing." Thread: Los Angeles Club Reviews Thread Thread: Review of Boris at Crobar
As for an actual review the music from the time I got into the main room (around 4) to around 7 was a little monotonous. Some of the beats were really good but for me that hard tribal all starts to sound the same after awhile. Lately I think Boris has been mixing it up a lot more, but dark tribal beats are cool for Halloween. After 7 he really picked it up...I had to leave around 8:30 but he was tearing it up at that point. The crowd: Pretty much what you would expect on a holiday...a bunch of randoms who don't even know who's spinning. A ton of skeevy guys obviously there to ogle the girls in slutty costumes. Thank god it did start to clear out pretty early and there was room to dance and see the people you usually see there. The vibe improved a lot after that, I wish i could have stayed later. A bouncer told me it was closing @ 9 but someone else told me 10:30..anyone make it til close? Arg where you at? Want more? Thousands more in the CP Forum. Link To Original Article |
