I'm pretty drunk myself... heavy night, so glad I made it out. Big up all the junglists staying through the rain, heavy set as always from DSL, AK, and Dara. I can't say I liked what came next, if I wanted to hear house I think I would have been somewhere other than POTD, oh well... @ whoever is in charge of these things, please move POTD back to Trees next year, if I have to hear another candy raver ask me if I know where the pills are at I'm gonna snap. I hadn't been to the Lizard Lounge in a couple years until tonight and nothing's changed... "Are you rollin?" fuck no, I'm drunk and brockin out to the music muthafucka (sorry, I'm a bit wasted...) |

yo dope ass show. i was actually impressed a few times. a little dissappointed in some things but overall it was fun. i don't think the production level kept up with the level that was on the stage (ie, sound). (then again i am spoiled) interesting gig though, got my ass kicked by the sun, spent a fun little while pushing the limits and discovering the bounderies of a rig i've never taken out. pieced together 2 stacks of what i would consider drum subs and a few small but decent tops and just strait up banged the hell out of them for a little while (sorry gilbert/ bryan) they held up well but i soon found there weaknesses. do wish we had a wireless system or wish i would have even known what i was getting into i would have brought mine, the vocals i found very dissapointing and a pain in the ass to babysit at that.. oh well, happens. that said and done, got settled and everything the happiest it could be, then kicked back, played some solitare, listened to some music, reflected on a week of back to back gigs, said what's up to all the peeps who ventured back or stumbled on my little canopy, looked up, heard some shit, got thoroughly impressed, went and strait up bobbed my head cause it was dope. remembered that pain was my main reason for chillin out in the first place, smoked another ciggerate... then just realized lots of work, a sunrise, no food, another long drive, and six hours later i'm sitting here zoning out (literally that dot, dot, dot, was about two minutes of just sitting in a daze) ... summation: some things i see could have gone better... -i used my e-tape to hold up an unbalaced speaker thereby rendering me empty handed when time the time came to secure an extension cord. this later got unplugged killing all sound (and suprisingly on time) right at the end of a build when the silent mc entered the stage. (you see that with his name too?) sorry about that man. next time i'll have two ![]() -when advancing the show, communication between promoter/ sound company could have been a little better so the weaknesses present were not -or maybe there could have some sort of liason that understands both worlds to help spec the system- *cough, cough* things that could have been worse... well, everything. strait up. be thankfull, that was a great event, the djs rocked, the energy was great, some even got to experience the pleasure of being free enough to dance in the rain with no fear of scepticism, maybe it was there first time? maybe someone else just rediscovered it for the first time? who knows? who cares, life is good, eat a donut, i'm going to sleep before this post gets any more (insert any descriptive word here and that will be what it is to you) the world is what you make of it. good night. corey needs sleep... oh, and special props out to one Mr. Burr Rabbit himself, not only did he find the power to speak life back into himself hes going to build a fucking army and speak it back to dallas. Just woke up from my nice long recovery sleep... I had SO MUCH fun!!! Got to chat with Dieselboy & AK1200...both were very nice...I was up in the front of the stage much of the night dancing my ass off....I think I am almost totally deaf from being in front of the speakers for hours. lol Candy ravers were in full effect last night LOL!!! I was standing in line for a beer and some kid hit me in the shoulder with a GD glowstick. I turned around and growled, "COME NEAR ME WITH THAT THING ONE MORE TIME AND IT'S GOING TO BE SHOVED UP YOUR BOUNCY LITTLE ASS!! NOW SCRAM!!" But good times for all! |

I'm sorry I missed the winner, Dj ViBro, the winner to open up at the LL party, sorry bro, don't forget the demo!!! Other than that, the sounds were dope. First time to hear POTD !!! There was one track I was happy to hear, I had recently heard it on the "INCredible Sound of Drum'nBass Mixed by Goldie" Track number 7 "See Red" by Jonny L. Also, Icarus tore some sh*t up! Thanks for having us by the way Jeremy! I was excited to have the angelbaby promoters register to vote some newbies ( ). But I was shocked as to how many peeps DIDN'T want to register!!! W:OW. Most of the responses were:"I don't care." "It is not important." "I am a mellow guy, govt. doesn't affect me." ...and many more lame ass excuses!!! But what is exciting, is the fact that the Dallas Morning News was there and they are posting a little ditty on the event in the 'Quick' on Monday, I was told by the photographer Sunday. There may be a mention in the large newspaper as well, so keep your eyes posted. p.s. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE register to vote! There are many laws pushing the scene away, pushing acts to bring back the draft next year and so much more. YOU CANNOT VOTE AGAINST THESE THINGS IF YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED TO VOTE. |
