What about the tag team IDB you got in the closet... or was that just in my head? haha Defiantly a very dope ass venue. I wasn't sure what the weather was going to do, but we didn't see a drop of rain the whole day. I wish we could do that every Sunday.... except for the whole hang over thang. You did a great job J W!!! |

My personal review: Main Room: Gina Star-This girl came in and opened the first hour in the main room with her thumpin'-groovy-vocal house sound. I believe she even opened with some type of breaks track. Nonetheless, the times I've heard Gina play in the past few months, she has been on top of her game, and yesterday was definitely not any different than what I'm used to. She then later played another 45 minute set in the K Lounge that was very solid and smooth. John Bradley-Damn. Man you are defintely one of my hometown favs. From your flawless mixing, track selection, to your undeniable cuts and tricks, you never cease to amaze me. Let me tell you DDMers, John Bradleys set yesterday can be summed up in four letters...D-O-P-E I can't believe it's almost close to a decade that I've known you. Who would of thought we'd be involved in what we are today. Nothing but love bro. Granite+Phunk-These are two guys we have all come to know and love, and I was defintely honored to have them out. GAP have such a strong energy behind the decks, not to mention they are really cool as well. The track selection was hot as always. We got to hear some of their originals, and new remixes that were simply thumpin' out the system. Once again, a big thank you to GAP, you guys are fuckin' rockstars. DJ One VS Finatik-For it being spontaneous, they rocked the house down. The energy level was kept high, and their combonations of house music blended extremely well together. Finatik played an almost Liquid Funk sounding track towards the end of their set that had people hyped. My boy One never disappoints, and had a dope track selection as always. Thanks for helping me with the flyers man. DJ Merritt-First of all, I have to say that besides him being a badass behind the decks and in the studio, he is also a badass down to earth cat. Merritt came in and played some really intelligent sounding stuff. He started with some slightly downtempo breaks that sounded wicked, and worked his way into a locked groove with some more breaks for the remainder of his set. Man I tell ya, I never get enough of that Led Zeppelin rmx, nor the Nirvana "Lithium". Great set for sure. If you missed it, you missed out. Thank you Merritt for being genuine and understanding. I always have and always will have respect for you. Kid Icarus-I can't even count how many times I've seen this dude play, but I can never get enough. With his lethal track selection, and his intelligent use of technical skills he came in and tore it up. Pumpin' and energetic, Jeremy provided us with an hour and fifteen minutes of pure electronic goodness. Some track IDs would be nice for this set for sure b/c some of the tracks I had never heard before. Jeremy, you have my upmost respect, and I am previlged to have had you out. Hopefully we can work on some projects in the future. Thin Men-Some of the nicest guys EVER. I've been following these veterans of the scene for a couple of years now, and they are always throwin' it down. I'm sorry that the set got cut short, but the hour I did get to enjoy was incredible as always. I hope that we can do something again soon that I promise will not get fucked with. Thank you guys for being so understanding of my situation, and thanks for coming out. I expected more peeps to check ya'll out, but those who were their were having a blast. If you have never heard the Thin Men, than I suggest you do some research b/c these guys bust out solid production work and have an awesome vibe in the booth. I will never forget Thin Thursdays @ Orchid ya'll. That was definitely one of my favorite weeklies ever, and also where I was introduced to respect more of a house sound. Thanks again guys. Talk to ya'll soon. K Lounge: Ferminator-Banged it out with some hard trance to kick off the sideroom. Great hearing you man, it's been a while since I've heard you play. Deaf Jeff-My boy from San Marcus came down and threw down very proper. He opened with Sasha and Junkie XL's "Breezer", which was great to hear. Then eventually turned more to his style of melodic yet sometimes funky style of breaks. Great set bro. Jeremy Certain-Didn't get to hear much of his set, but I have played with this guy for almost 3 years, and know he comes correct with some house. His record collection is highly in the thousands, and yet he hasn't even played out much at all. Thanks for playing man. Scott Phrenetik-Always comin' correct with the deep groovy house. My boy of over three years now would have people over every Friday to play records until sometimes the next day with never a complaint or police visit. It is through Scott that I am able to have some of the knowledge I have to this day. We all grew further into it together. Ferminator, Deaf Jeff, Jeremy Certain, Scott Phrenetik, myself, and even Woody Rosen were amongst those who played every Friday. That to me is where it all began. Scott's set was great though, even though I didn't get to hear all of it. Kyle Style-He always rips it. However I didn't get to hear any of it due stressout overload. Sorry Kyle. Thanks for comin' out though. We been though some shit dude, and I'm glad we are getting the bad shit out of the way now.(ex. Rear Window,Security Guard Fuck Face) Though mine and Kyle Style's styles are different, we always seem to find a wasy to seam them together. Big ups. Kyle.........Kyle Style. St. Blaize-This was my third time to hear this girl spin, one being Edgeclub, and she ripped it up. Your style of breaks are badass! We should work out a tag set sometime because I bet we could tear some shit up. Sorry for the misunderstanding of the timeslots. Very very dope track selection! Thanks Leslie. THE PEOPLE-I LOVE ALL OF YA'LL. THERE WAS A GREAT VIBE BETWEEN THE PEOPLE WHO WERE THERE, AND IT WAS SO GREAT SEEING ALL OF YOU. THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!! PEACE.
