So how was she? Does anyone have a review of her performance at the Eight Lounge last Friday?

She was awesome! She sang every once in a while..she has a good voice. And we talked to after her set and she was very nice. She threw down!

Collete came proppa. From her first trac...she dropped it and unleashed that velvety voice and it was on. She is very very good at what she does......and I cant say enough good things about her and her set.
However,
Eight Lounge can eat a fat dick.....fat fat dick.
We get to the door...my room mate and I are both dressed really nice. We both have on brand new tennis shoes so we can dance. We get to the door and the door guy is like:
"I cant let you in with sneakers."
(US) Well we traveled awhile to see collete and we both look really nice.
(Doorguy) Well we dont play that around here. (US) What?
(DG) Look we can let you into the club but its gonna cost you. You need to "take care " of the girl at the door.

At this point we are confused, as we well should be....this was all part of there plan. So there is this guy standing by the front door pretending to be a cop and he starts in...
(wanker security guy) So if you guys want in you need to take care of the door girl.
(us) Uh, okay dude........(underbreath)take care of these nutz.
(DG) What?
(US) Oh nothing...well take care of her sure dood.

So the shoe nazi's got an extra ten bucks out of each of us. The nite was advertised as 5$...ended up being 15 and just generally was a shit move on the club owners part. I thourghly enjoyed collete and i support feedback and house music here in dallas but ill be dammened if I ever pay money to be treated like that again.

So in conclusion
FUCK EIGHT LOUNGE....

COLLETE ROCKED THE HOUSE!!!!

I 2nd that motion!

1st. Collete is an amazing Dj, and a very talented young lady! Ive seen her numerous times, and she's never lets me down.

There were about a hand full of househeads in the place and that was a great comfort, considering the rest of the partons!

Eight is an amazing spot, (great sound system, and extremely decked out, and some of the hottest waitress you have ever laid eyes on). Unfortunately ,there are a lot of pricks that run this place! I understand that their trying to cater to 1% upper class crowd, but why the f would you bring in great House talent and not expect that "type" of crowd? Also, can someone explain to me this: Why were they playing Finding Nemo on all 10 of there flat screen tv's? Picture this: Collete opening up with live vocals, and right behind her is a flat screen playing "Finding Nemo"? WTF

I ran into the same problem at the door, but thankfully i didnt have to pay extra! And if anyone knows me, then they know that "style" is definitely not an issue with me, but i still had problems! If this place once to continue to bring in dope House Dj's , then they need to change a few things.

ps. Fellas, if you're looking for Hot Ass women, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. However, unless your driving a 04 Bentley and sporting a 50k rolex, you have no f'ing chance.

laugh out loud. The majority of the people who goto 8 lounge don't even have that. They make 60K a year share an expensive apt. w/3 people and think they're hi-class

Well I'm sorry I missed her talents. I still have yet to see her -- I missed her when she came in 2002 also.

LOL about the Finding Nemo screens! That is too funny.

And I always wear tennies when I go out. Otherwise, how can you dance? He-llll-oo?

Yeah, I didn't think the smoke machine effect was real smart either considering she was trying to do vocals but whatever. Collete is a super nice gal everytime I've hung out with her. Super down to Earth I just wish she had gone on earlier and the formatting of the night had been better but she definitely tore it up.

Definite highlight was her singing Robert Palmer's "I didn't mean to turn you on" over a solid house tempo.
