![]() | Nocturnal Wonderland 9-4-04 in Cali...
2 round trip airline tickets to California: $432 Car rental for the weekend: $76 2 rave tickets: $60 1 night's stay in the worst motel in the world: $85 Watching an extremely drunk Jeremy Lewallen beat the shit out of some candy kids in a mosh pit by the hardcore stage: FUCKIN PRICELESS!!! "Here, hold my maragarita for a sec" and he goes running off into the mosh pit jumping around like the raver kids. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! But seriously though, that was the most ravetastic time EVAR! Them kids in Cali know how to get down. Set of the night award? A 2 way tie between Donald Glaude and Kaskade IMO. All the DJ's were great, including Hyper, Hybrid, and of course RITM, Oakie, Sandra Collins, Doc Martin, Collette. The DnB wasn't bad either, but Led and I were discussing that it was a little heavy on the dancefloor played out stuff... And a couple sub par MC's. Pibb could have gotten up there and owned them bitches, at least the fool MC'ing for Tech Itch. Apparently Uberzone had some techinical difficulties with the drum pads, but I missed it personally. The layout was cool, 2 huge buildings that served as the DnB area and "main" area (Donald Glaude, Irene, Sandra Collins, Oakie, Monk, RITM). The breaks room was this cool dome thing about the size of the Lizard Lounge main room (or a lil smaller). The hip hop and hardcore areas were outside tossed around/between the DnB and Breaks areas, and on the other side of the "main" building, there was a big pond with a foundtain and some vendor areas, with a big ass grassy field serving as the House area with Kaskade, Doc and collette, among others. "Tonight we're gonna party like it's nine teen ninety nine!" And we did. Thanks to Led, Lucky Leo, Pibb, and Jeremy Lewallen for giving us some familiar faces, I had blast hangin out with all you guys. Esp. Jeremy!! DDM'ism of the night: "If you want some pizza I left some of mine on the curb over there..." -Jeremy Lewallen to his girlfriend Amy after he ralphed around 2 am. LOLYZ Good fuckin times indeed.

It was indeed a killer party. Cali knows how to throw down. We started off Friday with a little underground party in the backroom of the Hollywood Galaxy theatre on Hollywood Blvd. Liquid funk to fill your need, and a kickass female vocalist who I would swear at times was part of the tracks. The show itself Saturday was the shit. DnB and breaks owned the night. Set of the night breaks style went to Hyper. He killed it. Unfortunately Andy C was caught in traffic and arrived waaayyyy late, but they kept the venue open late just so we could brock, and brock we did. That man tore the fucking roof off the place. My new obsession. First time I've seen him live, and he didn't disappoint. Jet lag+ party at c-rave tonight=Dead Led |

What a fucking night!!!!!!!! These cali people don't mess around!! Every dj there played a spectacular set....Simply Jeff played the best set I have ever seen him play......DJ Hyper was just sick! Seeing Sandra Collins in the main room made me realize how she got to the point in her career that she is at. The girl can throw down when she wants to...She most def had her own style going on. The dnb was just complete madness. If you don't like dark DnBthen you wouldnt have cared to much for this room. RAW was on when I got there and he made Pibb and I appreciate ragga. Then tech itch went on and hell raised. After that,Seeing Goldie, Diesel, and Andy C back to back....Just sick..Pure sickness with MCs Armanni, GQ, MC Dino, I beleive that this show had about 20,000 people or so. the rave scene in Cali is alive and Kickin very much so. There are 3 more massives coming up n the next 2 months....Pictures for this event will be up soon! |

Well damn, I guess i shouldhave stuck around for Andy C, but we still hadn't found a hotel room, so we had to go hunt one down. Didn't find one until 4:30 am!! Nobody told me there were races in San Bernadino that filled up all the hotels!

Uhhhh that neeeeeeeeeever happened............ ![]() That party was the shit, got to see John Kelly, Uberzone, Hyper, and Icey throw it down. RITM, Tech Itch, Goldie were dope as well. I wish I could've gotten to the show earlier so I coulda seen Donald Glaude. They had him playing at 6 though. It was an incredibly fun weekend though. Curse the VIP room for having an open bar.

WOW what a fucking great party NOCTURNAL WONDERLAND turned out to be. Those Cali kids know how to party. It was an amazing night. Thanks to Jess, Brian, and Led for such a great weekend. I am so glad I ended up going. I can not even explain what a great night it was. Simply Jeff was awesome like always. But I had never seen him play as good as he did that night. Irene OH MY GOSH was incredible. I know I have seen her a million damn times but she threw it down so much that night. She didnt play her normal set but played a tech house set and she filled the room with so much energy it was amazing. She worked the crowd so much. Hyper, Hybrid, Kaskade ( WOW GORGEOUS AND SO BADASS), Goldie, Diesel, Tech itch, Sandra Collins, and many more raised hell. The drum and bass room was always so crowded. It was one big ass mosh pit between everyone. Everyone was always dancing, there was never anyone just standing still. Then came the best of the night ANDY C. He made the whole night. Even though he was two hours late stuck in traffic they ended up keeping the show open longer so he could play and even though he got to play for on 30 mintues, that was the best 30 minutes of the night. California was incredible and they definately know how to party. Friday when we first got their we went to this liquid funk show and it was a local night for them and they had so many people it was awesome. The room was full of dancing and screaming and having a good time. That's what we need in Dallas.

Sorry for not introducing myself! HI, that was me, Andy. Nice to make your aquaintence, lol. And fuck you for seeing Simply Jeff!!! I missed his set and he's one of my favorites!!! He gave me a litle flyer with a website and said he recorded the set and I could get it there in a little while, though. He's a cool guy, down to earth, never an arrogant prick like some DJ's.
