What a fun night. I enjoyed the sets by Black, FDAP, and Busdriver way too much. It's funny, I'm not the biggest of hip hop goers, but I found that I was one of the only people bouncing on my toes most of the night to the beats. GET SOME GROOVE IN YOUR STEP PEOPLE! The rhymes and beat laid down last night were seriously thick, like cake. mmmm... cake. But seriously, I had a great time. I stuck it out as long as I could into Busdriver's set, but after the two performances Mustafa and I had spent day and night prepping for, I was completely drained. Especially after the second performance, when team jackass and the trucker hat homies ran up and started vehemently accusing Mustafa and I of being Bush supporters, in between "You suck"'s, "Shawn's Skateboards" and "Fuck you"'s. Most of the time Busdriver was on I had people coming up to me trying to argue with me, insult me, or some such business. ![]() That's what we get for trying to make learning fun. Having completed my task of angering a room full of people, grooving to some seriously dope tunes, and eating some jumbiliya rice and sausage, I now go to rest my weary bones. -Sean

Get it right. Secondly, don't stop fighting the good fight. Man didn't master the use of fire overnight and people won't catch a "spark" under their ass as quickly either. Set light to their arses and let the flames of fairness boil their brains into a frenzy for change. If not, let those suckers marinate in their own stupidity. Glad you got down.

I havn't seen the homebar that packed in i dont know how long, MAD PEOPLE!! I liked watchin the graff artist out back. the tagz they threw up were pretty dope. I would have liked to see them work more on the portrait of mark, looked like it was just kinda left hangin half done but its all good. I made use of the the linoleum matt brent was so kind as to provide, had fun with that for a bit. Brent was right when he said hip hop headz show up for the headliner and bounce. busdriver ended and about half the crowd left with the quicknezz. Dope show, big upz domestic disturbance!!!

Colin and I walk in around 11:30.. it's way crowded up at the front so he's all pointing to the back so we have room. We start walkin. COntinue walkin. Keep walkin. Five minutes later we finally get to a clear spot, and it's all the way by the bathrooms. That was at 11:30. Domestic - Good job buddies. That set up was kinda funny, but I was feeling it for sure. You guys never dissapoint. It was crazy to see Landon play too.. and he played for a while it seemed. BUSDRIVER was pretty amazing.. he rhymes quick. Too bad about 15 minutes into his set I almost blacked out in the ladies room.. for no apparent reason, and ended up missing the rest of him. Boooo. All in all I had a pretty good time! The graf was pretty neat, especially the one of Spammy.. too bad the dude doing it fucked it up not once, not twice, but three times (all having to do with the rip, domestic dist. part) ![]() And, the afterparty at Justin and Falumi's was a nice ending to the night. $15 was a little steep... I would have been a lot happier to pay $10.. but I have to say it was definately worth it. ![]() <<<cannot wait for ming&fs, and Concord Dawn!!! That show will pulverize!!!>>> |

I had a great time. I was most impressed with FDAP. I hadn't seen them before and I really enjoied it. Busdriver is a nice person and talented, but I find him to be a bit of a spaz. Great show, great people.... nice to see old friends out. :thumbsup" to everyone involved in throwing this event.

Had a decent time. First time seeing Busdriver and was impressed. But I wasn't kosher on spending $15 dollars to see him. I'm with Robin on this one, if it was 10 then it would've been better. I was even proud of Dallas for coming out and supporting the hip hop. Now if only they would come out on Wednesdays as well. P.S. I met Blame. We're cool now. |

Phooka and BK pwnd me, seriously. That shit was ill. Squirt showed up right as I was about to leave, so I didnt get to see him in the mix. Nice set from Justin outside and the comeback set from Subtle was cool.
