![]() | Afterlife Sat Night!!!
Had a great time opening for Dual Progress, Kyle Everett, and DBU. All of you guys did great. Kicked it with some kool peeps. Got really tired and had to leave. Overall, a good night. Oh and James Kelley threw it down and well with some tasty breaks.

I had a blast just being a spectator this weekend. Great sets from everyone I saw. Dual Progress was so hot, that they killed the electricity for a while James Kelley--DAMN!!!! You had the VIP room rockin'. Your set was completely on point. Bad ass track selection. See everyone next weekend!

due to a bit of personall drama bullshit i was pretty out of it saturday, but other than that i had a great time. the music was kickin, but i do have to say that there was a bit much prog trance comin from the main stage. i think a few people got a bit bored with that, but hell, i liked it. see you all next week

2 much Prog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! ![]() I was feeling the prog for awhile, but when it didn't switch up to something more dance-able.. I got kinda bored. The DnB "room" got me up and bouncing in an expedited fashion. Its always nice to see those friendly faces every weekend at Afterlife.. I should be back next weekend should finances permit.. I've been drinking myself poor lately... |

I promise you next time it's not going to be 3 and half hours worth . I had a great time though dBu and Kyle are some cool guys to hang out with. Although we had a minor power failure I had a freaking blast back there. I walked around while we were still playing and chill out with James for a good 20 minutes getting a little change of pace. Then when the D&B hit it was slamming in there. I was totally feeling it but had to leave to go see who was still playing in the main room so I didn't miss the rotation lol. All and all it was a badass night, everyone did super awesome. Most of all it made my night to see Storm-E come cruising in...I lovasis her . So thanks for the support for those who stuck around and get ready for the upcoming next couple of weekends, it's going to be NUTS!!!!!!

hmmmm...well whatever for your complaint of too much prog... I played until 6am that morning...and when I came on, and slowed the bpm down to about 135...I heard about 5 people scream, " yay!!! THANK YOU!..." Not to discount the want for hard banging-vomit-2step-puke-zone-impale-me-in-the-face-with-a-snail techno trance stuff up there, , but I must say that a good balance is key. I stayed until I was one of the final three contestants on the Afterlife island, but I didn't arrive until 4:44, so I can't say I was 100% die-hard rave~stomper since I wasn't there for the "needle drop" to start the night off... After carefully observing the mood and flow of several nights and mornings out at AL, I have come to discover a pattern of sorts that, of course, is non-linear...and actually isn't a pattern at all. HA! In fact, it's completely random...the wants and needs of the audience are completely split evenly. There were two rooms going this past Saturday night, and I think that is all that's necessary to cater to the EDM crowd. Actually one room is all that's necessary...and I know that having more than 3 or 4 rooms is sometimes a bit much, but when a high number of quality areas can be pulled off, it is memorable for pretty much everyone attending...and just as well for a gathering with one room...I'd have to say my most memorable EDM events are are all of them, because my PLUR meter has peaked at events of all sizes and varieties...the best that I can remember are the ones with most variety, or the ones that hit a few genres but have masters of those genres representin' with top notch sounds...that's not saying anything about superstars...I said "masters" {you all know who you are...and to all those in training...keep up the good work... so, yeah, the bpm varied during my set but ended up around, I'd say, 137 or 138...and then was picked up to about 141 or so about 15 minutes after I was done...and don't get me wrong here...I personally thought TallJosh had quite a fantastic set{think he may have gotten a nice recording too...heh ...} and a upper-middle sized proportion of the audience was into it too! I did notice that everyone was having a good time, which was awesome...but I also noticed that only a select few were dancing, or expressing art and music through light...I remember seeing several eager looks as I gazed around watching the networkings of the experience come to life, and found myself twirling the lil hairs on my goatee in my active thinking position. I had a "lightbulb" moment and snapped my fingers like I would do if I was in character on hired to be a commercial actor for any local small-sized business, and was given the instructions to portray the character of an employee who had just figured out a way to save the business several thousands each month or something...the people wanted to dance, YES~ but the music was too fast for them, and they all still were having a good time but were looking at each other still wondering what moves they were going to be able to bust out at that speed without looking like a crackhead on pcp...I thoroughly enjoy every afterlife experience I have. I do whatever is in my power to make sure that I enjoy it, regardless of what selection of music or drama might ensue. I highly suggest that everyone who comes out to Afterlife that they try and do the same as I...enjoy yourself as much as you allow yourself to... ...Mad props to everyone who has put even a tiny ounce of effort into bringing you such a fantastic and in this present day, an extremely unique weekend venue catered towards people who come out to share experiences at an electronic music event. I, for one, feel privileged to even have such a choice of an activity to engage in with some kick-ass, good-hearted, positive individuals who celebrate their right to dance and experience electronic music... ...
