Tim Harper @ Pharmacy - Dallas Dance Music - Dallas nightlife, music, tickets, and more

Last week Dayhota, this week Tim Harper...each week brings new exciting music and new exciting faces. The residents held it down with some inspired mixing(I think Cassie's birthday should happen EVERY week if Eric continues to play like that!!!) and tune selection. The crowd was in the right state of mind and open to the various sounds being served up...they even hyped "the worlds ONLY black man with 0% rhythm" aka lil ol' me

, into letting loose with a couple of moves. I gotta give up to "GROOVE U" -the "doctorates of dance"...

There wasn't a still foot in the house when Tim took to the decks playing a set that I can only describe as "classic". Blending a little bit of disco infused beats with some tasty vocals and then rounding it out with some Latin percussion, he refused to give the dancers a break. He had everybody singing in unison when he dropped both the Jamiroquoa track and Spiller "Batucada".

Met quite a few new faces who have heard about Sunday nights and decided to check it out for themselves...word of mouth goes a long way.

The evening wasn't without drama though...halfway into Brian's set Woody informs me that the main sound system isn't working...okay major bummer... right as the lounge is starting to fill up. So Eric goes and fiddles with the amps & eq's and I check to make sure there isn't a cable loose...nothing is helping. So we are sweating bullets and Eric is cussing & fussing and I look down at the mixer and realize that Brian had set his headphones on the main volume fader(and subsequently pushed the fader all the way down)...whew, diasaster averted...party back in full swing.

Thanks to EVERYONE who continue to make Sundays so successful.

Yeah, that volume thing REALLY pissed me off. dude I was about to just leave and not tell anyone. lol

Brian had me trippin', good thing it was just with the mixer.

It was indeed a good time and the music was stellar as always. It was also my buddy Jose's birthday last night and Cassie played quite the host (damnit woman, I am still working off that piece of cake you gave me, BWTF?).

Tim beat it down without fail and "Chocolate City" took no prisoners on the dancefloor.

There were a lot of soulclaps, a lot of good laughs, and a lot of improvisation on the part of the staff, the DJs, the dancers, and even the guests (thanks to that mystery woman last night whose company I kept last night,

).

Thanks to all involved and especially the drinks. College drinks win again.

I guess my moves took quite a few people by surprise...

Who says that large people can't groove...growing up in the "da region" aka Gary-Chicago area, EVERYBODY dances...and hanging out at spots like the Music Box...ya learn by proxy.

It was funny as hell when chants of..."tag him in...tag him in" filled the air in harmonious unison...

eric rules for throwing me a wonderful party and buying me video games, like i dont have enough already, but yeah all my freinds rule and i love you guys and thanks for coming and saying happy birthday to me and thanks for the presents. im sorry i dont remember seeing half of the people that were there, but i love you anyways.

Great night. Tim lifted me up with an inspired set. Goofy asses were on the dancefloor as usual keepin it silly. Really lookin forward to this coming sunday.
