Dj Spun & XS!!!!!!!!!

Okay

Here is my night. Got out of work and got my drink on with Miles and company. After 11:30 or so they decided to hit up XS and me and my girl decided to hit Dj Spun.

Dj Spun was already bangin the shit out of the dance floor over at Soul II Soul. The place was a bit packed and people seemed very up for it. Spun was doing a good job at keeping people moving. I headed outside to see what there was to see and lo and behold ......Christine was getting ready to go on. Christine's set started seamless and went into some really new house cuts.... Its a shame about the outside sound system with the amp cutting out the main speaker .......DAMN. I wanted everyone to hear the tunes she was playin.....Oh Well...

After she was done we headed back inside to get down to Spun. Anyone familiar with the Siesta sound already knows the shenanigans going on inside. Things were going rather nicely. Hell I was in my own fucken world......dancing.

Oh ...But guess what?...........Tony motherfucken Fair tries to bump Spun off at 1:42 a.m. What kind of bullshit is that? This man was so jealous of Spun that he was trying to get Spun to spin outside on that fucked up system from the very fucken beginning. BullfuckenShit!.........Tony wasnt slated to play that night. Someone from San Fran is in town playin and you have the gall to tell him to go to hell....(basically).

Give me a fucken break

I hope your on this board and I hope you read this......You play that motherfucken bar all the damn time. You play played out tracks like "Sandwiches" and Modjo's - Lady......two to three times a night......Its not gonna kill you to be a bit humble and say "fuck it, I'll let this man from San Fran play....."

I was pissed .........and Jason was informed...... I'm glad managment blocked your ass and told Spun to do his thing. The place went off as you stood there pissed.

After Spun, me and my girl headed to XS.

XS is basically a pool hall hidden behind a strip mall that took me and my girl 20 minutes to find. I was a bit pissed but at the same time happy that I found the place. Walked in and uhm......got charged 5 bones. I was happy as a clam to finally meet Julie and Karlos even thou they were jetting to go to ONE to promote

Uhm I dunno what to say. The music was really good, but the atmosphere was a bit uhm different if not dead. Not that I was looking for some sort of full on mayhem but people seemed to be a bit lost and really not into it. OH WELL........

I appreciate what Mr Valid was trying to do tonight....but I will tell you this much folks. Ive been to pool halls that SELL BEER AFTER HOURS IN DALLAS.....! This just basically reminded me of that. Although they werent selling any booze. Just sucks that this town goes after us and not those places. Considering those places are FUCKEN NUTS!

Theres gotta be something more in the realm of a Club rather than a pool hall....

I left pretty quickly and proceded to get my .....ana....I mean drink *cough* on at Miles's house again.

Ya it was really dead, but I didnt get charged a cover... so no feelings lost here. The music kicked azz, but the crowd seemed a bit...subdued?Its always good to see someone trying new stuff out, but ummm.... someone needed to slip some of the people some Liquid Dance in their drink or something.....

But did you guys see that crazy bish walking with the frizzed hair around with that stringbean and the purple haired old guy screaming "Suck my co*k? What was up with that?

After going to Trent's b-day at the Lizard Lounge, Lacey, Josh and I headed over to XS (at 4am). We drove past once, but made it back in no time, now about the venue....


Pretty cool. Rack Daddies is held at a pool hall, and I have a great time there. XS is even better! They have more pool tables, and a bigger dancefloor. Matt & Crew did a nice job on the decor, a dark room with candles, minimal lighting and a lazer!

I was only there to catch John B, from Area 51, play some badass music ( I think it was prog house). And after itching for hours at the LL to spin some poi, it was a great release to get to spin a little.

All in all, it was worth it. I'll definitely be back to XS. This place has a lot of potential, and is only going to get better.

For the people who bashed it... you're idiots. If it happens, it happens, don't question why. Matt Valid is not a liar, the place was everything he said it was. And opening nights are sometimes good, sometimes bad. I remember when Sweet used to be Dead on a regular basis, but now it has a loyal following and is always good. XS is bound to have the same success. Keep it up Matt.
