How was Tall Paul?

i actually made it to the door and was pretty hyped up because i hadn't expected to go.. but my id was expired for a few weeks and the fucking moron at the door said there was a 10 dollar fee for expired ids which he would have pocketed. 30 dollars to see tall paul.. yea right. well, for all of those who did get to go, how was it?

He was VERY badass. Played a totally unpredictable set. I think the most consecutive tracks he played of the same style was 3. So almost every other track was either trance, epic trance, house, hard house, breaks, polka, merengue... you get the point. I think it was a testament to his impeccable mixing skills, it was almost like he was showing off that he could mix any two tracks on earth.

Highlights: dubbing in Nirvana "Lithium" over some dope trance. Going straight from a huge epic trance track into a funky house track and making it sound good... wait, that's what he did all night.

I honestly had a blast. It's unfortunate there weren't more people there. It was less packed than I've seen that place on a major headliner night.

If dj's are supposed to take you on a journey, Tall Paul took us on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride... and it was FUN!!!!

yea,tall paul was a badass, i really enjoy his set, and yes when he busted out that nirvana song i was like"no fuckin way" the man is a badass. There were'nt ahole lota ppl but enuff i guess,vibe was nice music was sweet and i had good time.I got there when e.p was finishing up and hes badass too.

-also anyone see those 3 crazy guys in front of tall paul,they were goin off all through his set,i remeber them chanting..tall paul tall paul and then they said..uk uk uk.its was crazy stuff,oh well i had good time and got paul to sign my cd,im happy,well worth the 20 bucks i spent-alex

Tall Paul was phenomenal last night! My favorite track he spun last had to be Credence. The man actually scratched over it, come on! Other things I saw from him was beat juggling and mad use of the mixer. And to think some kid had the balls to squat under the railing behind Paul and yell "Work the mixer." Psh!

I was standing to the left of those guys and they were crazy. In a way they kept the energy alive. But for some reason at the beginning I thought there were saying "Paulo!!! Paulo!!!" Then I caught on. Ha! When they were chanting "UK! Uk! UK!" I saw Tall Paul turn around to put a record on and kinda "Shhh" them, or so it seemed. I guess he didn't want us Yanks to get pissed off. But I don't see how we could have with that impeccable set.

Last night was so awesome! The jacket was pretty dead upon arrival—not the norm for a “big name dj “night. Slowly and surely they trickled in as E.P was thowin’ down a dope set—as always. He really got the crowd pumped and ready for Tall Paul. Yes, I must say, Paul was everything I anticipated and more! I got the dose of hard trance I so desperately needed…and some! Like gator said, he didn’t just stick to one style….very eclectic, which made the whole set incredible—never a dull moment! And that nirvana track was fuggin’ sick! Man, that made the crowd go crazy! Incredible! I don’t think there was a body standing still throughout the set…..if there was, I don’t understand how!!

I actually kinda liked the fact that it wasn’t THAT crowded, because it wasn’t so hot and there was actually room to dance! Yeah, those guys in front of the dj booth going balistic were freakin' halarious--jumping/chanting in unison!...hahaha. then there were the "night at the roxbury" guys--no lie!! ask mark.....

awwwwwwww shit. So, badass. I loved the whole mutha fuckin set. Small crowd made it even more enjoyable, i wonder if Paul liked the small crowd or not. He laid down so much bad ass shit, and the 3 drunk guys, combined with the night at the roxbury dudes, plus the guy with the shades and suit(which i have seen at like the past 3 parites gettin down) made the night even greater. You all missed out!

Ya, his set was off the fucking hizzie! He really knew how to work the crowd. I like that he was mixing in all different genre's. When he mixed in Nirvana's 'lithium' the crowd about lost their minds. It wasn't too packed so there was actually room to dance and it just gave the whole setting a more personal feel. Now if only I had taken the free roll I was offered by the 34yr old guy that talked my ear off for part of the night...hmmm.

the show was awesome! this was my first tall paul experience and he did not disappoint. it was my boyfriend's birthday and he had a great time. only downside to the evening was the stupid asshole that was grabbing my friend's ass and then tried to start a fuckin fight with my boyfriend when he told him to cut it out. thanks a lot to the red jacket security for being so helpful *sarcasm*.
Oh and Gator and E.P. it was great to finally meet you.
