i just got home from austin from the show.... and i must say... goddamn! i had a blast! i *heart* nin! i got to austin at 6 and waited in line for about 45 or so minutes, got in, got a bbq sandwich, met up with a friend and then watched the dresden dolls. not bad. i had never heard of them before and i found them quite interesting. there was one song in particular that i really enjoyed, but now i have no idea what it was. then, during set change, i darted closer to the front. not all the way to the front, but not too bad. i got center stage and was as far forward as the upstairs patio of the building. not too shabby. but goddamn was it hot! i have to admit that i did get a little nervous when they finally started with pinion and everyone started pushing and getting riled up. i got so fucking into it!!!!!!! i had a grand ol time! i got quite the workout while being close. i lasted almost an hour before i started feeling woozy from the heat, so i had to go sit down for a while an be chill. i was fucking DRENCHED with sweat! but the songs! oh the songs! he played (in no particular order): pinion terrible lie something i can never have wish ![]() burn ![]() sin closer march of the pigs reptile starfuckers hurt the hand that feeds head like a hole and shit - there were more, but i cant remember what else right now... im kind of sleepy. but goddamn it was so fucking awesome. i had a swell time. until the end. he just ended... no encore, nothing! wtf? the crowd was not too pleased about that, but oh well. at least it was a great concert and a nifty neat small venue (of which i had never been to before). all in all, i give this concert a: ![]() |

Let me preface this by saying that I had no idea the degree of insanity that I was in for when I embarked on my mission to the NIN concert. We actually got in pretty quick due to finding a shorter line on the side of the building. Once we got in I realized how much fun it was going to be. The place was pretty packed. We quickly moved towards the front weaving in and out of people to get as close as we could. By the time The Dresden Dolls came on we were fairly close to the stage. The Dresden Dolls put on a good show. They really do feed off of eachother very well and the drummer is amazing. The biggest let down was seeing the beautiful singer raise her arms up to reveal her hairy armpits. It was both disgusting and traumatizing. After they got off the crowd started getting more and more rowdy with anticipation of seeing Trent Reznor and the rest of the band take the stage. You could feel the anticipation. As soon as NIN took the stage it was a full out wrestling match and fight towards the front of the stage. Needless to say we all got seperated. I have never been in a pit that was that insane. People were passing out left and right due to lack of oxygen and the degree of heat. There wasn't one second that it was still. You were constantly getting pushed back and forth. Everyone in the crowd was trying to get to the front. I was so fucking hot and gasping for oxygen that I didn't know if I was going to make it, but I loved every second of it. I finally got to the very front and it was worth the hour I had to fight to get up there. I tried to stay in the pit the whole time, but due to lack of water, sheer exhaustion and the insane amount of heat that I was feeling at the time, I had to bail and get some water before I passed out. I was drenched from head to toe. NIN left me in awe and amazement. The energy that they brought upon that place was beyond anything I have ever felt in my life. Trent and the rest of the band seriously shredded the fuck out of that place. I had no idea that a concert could ever be that amazing. I can't even explain in words how amazing this experience was. To those who did not go or missed out because they didn't want to pay $100 - $200 for a ticket, you missed out more than I can even begin to explain. I would have gladly paid $200 to witness what I did last night.

amzing show that venue was preety cool. very small for the likes of NIN, nice breeze as well made for perfect temperture, i was kinda baffeled at the end there was 20 min left for the encore, but for some reason the crowd just died, trent even came out to get the crowd pumped cause ya normally for the encore everyone suposped to go nuts, but everyone started leaving, was really hopeing for him to finish the set just as the new cd ends. crowd throughout of the show was great tho and made for a great time. i could be wrong though mabye time ran out dunno

the show was definitely over with Head like a hole. It's how he's ended the majority of the shows on this tour and austin has a 10:30pm noise limit law ... he ended at about 10:28 or so .... good times. It was a little hot and a little rough, but it made it lots of fun. I wouldn't put it at the top of times I've seen nin though ...
