My date and I got there when Bad Acid Trip was playing, so when SOAD went on next I guessed that we missed marsvotla. Bad acid trip was exactly that.....a bad acid trip. They reminded me of Led Zepplin in every way. the jazz. the bluesy singer. Not really my cup of tea. When SOAD went on, holy shit!! that place ignited!!! I counted 4 mosh pits on the floor, and saw 5 naked titties(including the girl that was standing right in front of me.) Overall, damn good show!! Nice Lightshow as well!

I seriously hate being short at times. We were in the pit and I could hardly see shit most of the show!!!!!!!!!!!!! Personally I didn't care for Mars Volta. And this whole time I thought the lead singer was a woman. There's only one song of their I like and at least I got to hear it. S.O.A.D. = OMG!!!!!! Bad ass show!!!!!!! I was hoping to hear them play "Holy Mountain"...but oh well. I looked out at the crowd and thought to myself "now this is what Zen Fest was SUPPOSED to look like". Great seeing Travis there DRUNK OFF HIS ASS!!!!!!!!!!! haha! And a bunch of Locked and Loaded flyers thrown on the ground...sad. Wow I'm fuckin tired today

I feel like an old foggie... I will never understand where heavy music went wrong.... but at least somebody's enjoying it, I guess. And I've seen footage of SOAD in concert. For no talent assclowns, they put on a good show. Flame away

Mars volta was good as always, but i dont really think their music translates well into the cold, sterile climate of AAC. They did end with my favorite song, which was pretty cool. System of a Down rocked.

the mars volta put on an incredible show IMO, I was blown away. but I couldn't stay for much of SOAD. They're just not the same band I first saw six years ago, and I guess my musical tastes have changed as well. To each their own though, I heard from quite a few people who stayed (and who are into SOAD) that they were badass...

agreed 100%. and MV really didn't have a niche' in a venue that big, sucked the life out of anything they played.....yet i still paid 45bucks to see them play, which is cool because they are who i wanted to see, again. i never bought a SOAD album after their self-titled, but i still thought they put on a mediocre show at best. the crowd was diggin' it..so thats cool. and IMHO the pit was WEAK, but i like it rough.

My husband got tickets to his company's suite. He got kinda ticked off because no one else from his company showed up and he was mad because he was hoping to get extra tickets for friends...at least six suite tickets were wasted. Oh, and the show was great. | |

The Mars Volta was incredible. during The Widow, they actually evoked tears from my eyes. had the walls been about 100 feet closer and they had played a slightly longer set, i probably would have had a breakdown. i have always loved The Mars Volta, but i never fully appreciated the raw emotion in their music until i witnessed it live last night. when his voice hit those high notes, it literally sent shivers down my spine. SOAD absolutely fucking ripped it, but everything was eclipsed after hearing The Mars Volta. anyone who didnt like The Mars Volta should have their heads examined. |
