Black Sheep was on point. They still got the skillz, and even have a new album coming out. They still seemed young and energetic, even after a decade of laying it down. The did some new material, as well as some classics...

engine, engine, number 9, on the new york transit line.

Z-Trip was amazing. He played a very long set IMO, for a turntablist. He brought a drummer, even played the drums himself for some tracks. He battled with Golden Child, and had one of the guys from Jurrassic 5 perform one of his tracks with him.

He also showed off his skills on the DVJ (the DVD player for VJ's...and DJ's appearantly) which was jaw-dropping! It was cool watching the video move back and forth, with audio, while he scratched the DVJ wheel/plate.

He also had a little crowd participation game where he asked a hot lady to come on stage and play Pac-Man while he played the drums to the game's theme song.



There was a ton of energy last night, and I'm definitely glad I got off my ass and went out to the show...and it was worth the $17 cover.

WOW. All performers last night were bad ass. Z-Trip is 1 hell of a DJ / performer. I stood on the balcony just watching in amazement all night. I only had 1 beer all night because I didn't want to leave my post for fear I might miss something cool.

i had to leave early b/c i was having some allergic reaction to something in the air at trees, but up until then i was dancing my ass off! z-trip had great energy, awesome beats. loved that he brought the drums on and played them himself. great combo of djing, live music, multiple performers, and video to make for an energetic, beat-laden, thorougly enjoyable performance!

i give last night a 9.95 it would have gotten a 10 had that chick taken off her top like i requested.

i am glad jeff got there on time and got to witness one of the dopest intros i have seen in a long time.

party had an absolutley slammin' vibe, i love how he started off by saying something along the lines of dance and get to know the people around you. very non-clickish last night. i liked that.

that dude in the red shirt was awesome. lucky for him ztrip saved him from being kicked out. that fool was having a blast!!!!!

i hope those of you that missed last night have a good excuse....like being at the blackalicious show.

That was one of the dopest shows I've ever been too. Goldenchyld was sick, and it was a damn shame only 10 to 15 people heard him. Blacksheep killed shit and 8WM was some funny shit. Dres was a cool dude, I got to speak with him a min or two on Z's bus after the show. Now for Z Trip's set it was nothing like his normal mix for an hour set, this shit was so incredible; From the Drum Playing to the DVJing, and to the live preformance of the Star Wars blend. My only problem was Z Trip kicking a shot out to those stupid Idiot Jerks Los Hip Hop Guys.

i felt like i was at a 3 ring circus, so much stuff i didnt know where to look it was awesome. and that intro was so sick. i left satisfied and inspired. i like shows like that.

-5 minute intro video that showed George Bush using TV to control minds, cartoon style. Z started dropping political messages on a sober wednesday crowd, and they mostly stood around....like sheep, staring at him. The look on his face was priceless. 'ummmm, let's on with the show'

i heard some cuts from the 1067 PowerSet, which I've practically had on repeat all summer, but there was plenty of new shit in there, too. Had to break after an hour, but I've got his new shit in my ears right now. Hope he can still play at ACL with Rita coming...

i had waited so long for this show.....appearently i was out of line by bringing my copy of uneasy listening vol 1 on vinyl to get signed. so the door guys told us to "get the fuck outta here" because i questioned why it was so rediculous that i brought a record produced by the headliner to have signed.

they also said i was "parading my pregnant girlfriend around" and the short guy at the door with red bushy sideburns said "i dont care about you or your bastard baby" to us when i expressed how i felt about being threatened and cursed at with my girl who is 7 months pregnant. she broke down in to tears(she had said nothing this whole time). z-trip is her favorite artist next to high contrast.

if you dont want to let me in fine. but dont be rude. im sorry as i door guy you feel the need to compensate for a little penis by power tripping and acting tough just because theres nothing we can do. i was very polite untill i felt threatened.

im sorry z-trip missed out on 2 of his biggest fans because of a door god and awfull jackass.

at least he slept good knowing he made a pregnant girl cry for trying to see her favorite artist.
