Hey sorry girl I almost knocked over your stack of glasses!!! I guess I need to contorl the flamboyant-ness that I display when I've had a few drinks in my system! Shattered glasses would have been no bueno!!

best 10 bucks I've spent in a long while! Thanks Jose once again for bringing one of my dance music heroes to town. heard so many gems (comon' he started his set off with "Your Love" by Jamie Principle, you knew it was gonna be good!) and it was cool to see so much love for Detroit music from Marshall too playing 2 Inner City classics in Good Life and Big Fun as well as Dmay's Strings of Life. Also a treat to hear Promised Land and Mystery of Love, Move Your Body as well as a little Inner Life as the lights came on and he encored us once again as the night ended. ![]() I'll add this year has been a good one for dance music in Dallas... Larry Heard, Steve Hurley and Marshall Jefferson... now morgan and darshan from Metro Area will be here this month so Jose and co. keep bringing the heat... see you guys again on the 22nd! looking forward to the next one.

I wandered in to hear the magic start and stayed until the lights came on. When Marshall first started, Bryan Knolley and I were sitting there wondering what was about to go down. Marshall touched the mixer and a lot of people thought that he was effing up, but he wasn't. I won't go into explaining the trick, but basically he sampled something, looped it, and then ran it with adjustment cutting down the measure to create his own fast-paced beat as an intro. Bryan and I both knew that it was going to be the ish only 5 minutes into the damn show. EVERYTHING AFTER THAT WAS GOLDEN. Both the people outside and inside were abuzz about what they were hearing. The first hour was more a mesh of some new, some old, while the second hour was classic heavy. Hearing "The House Anthem" being played by the man who himself created the damn track will forever be left in the forefront of my brain. I met a few new people at the event, reminisced with a lot of others, and got to chuckle at/with a few as well. There was even a guest appearance from the A & P Posse (you know who you are!). Big ups to Fresco for doing it big ALWAYS, to Julie (for letting us stay up so late and the fire extinguisher, LOL), and to Marshall Jefferson (for keeping it real after all these years). I can't wait to see what events are left for this year. With only 2 months left, the only way to top this would be to have Duane Harden come do vocals for a Loleatta Holloway appreciation night that Derrick May and Juan Atkins were spinning for. |

OMG, that was so much fun! In town from Minneapolis and had to check this out. I'm always dissapointed when I go out in another city-hard to find something as good as you have it as home. But the people were great, the space was amazing (HELLO PATIO!!), and the music owned. I hope there's an event there when I come back for Thanksgiving. I couldn't stop dancing!
