After a long drive from dallas to a bit west of Austin I arrived in Dripping Springs TX and started to look for the property. It's pretty well hidden and after a bit of a search I finally found it! I gotta tell ya if you didn't allready know where is or had great directions you'd NEVER know where to go. Talk about tucked away! I arrived at around 2pm not really know when it was to start. As it turned out I was the second person to arrive. (I beat most of the organizers unintentionally) Well after a little walking around and exploring the area and a little nap I see people showing up around 5ish. I gotta say the property was fantastic. The little creek was low and not moving well due to the lack of rain but all in all what a great looking place for a gathering. Perfect temperatures that afternoon. What an absolutely beautiful day it turned out to be. Just about 70 degrees with not a cloud in the sky. Bright and sunny. It was fantastic. Well people did start to show up. The stage area got setup and on comes the music right around sundown. Well I ended up meeting alot of new people there and hung out with two main groups (since i don't anyone in the austin area or dallas for that matter i was basically hanging around with other peoples groups). One group of two guys and a gal from austin. Great group of people. Another group of about 6 or so people from here in Dallas. Had an absolute blast meeting everyone. The music was great for the most part. The music started around sundown and lasted well into sunday. My only complaint was after the sun went down that temperature plumeted!! I don't think anyone was really prepared for it to get as cold as it did. It was FREEZING. Alot of us ended up around the fire they had going (and thank god for that). But it was still a good time. Glad to have met everyone I did and enjoyed the music. What a great time despite the mega long drive and hella cold wether. and that's my $.02

Greetings, We were pleasantly surprised by the high turnout from Dallas - at about 3 am, we went to the main gate run by the owners to see if they wanted to wrap up the gate , and they were on the phone giving direx to Dallas heads who had only started from there way past midnight. So, a special thanks to Dallas for being hardcore, and we're glad we could run the sound until 11:30 am. Also wanted to acknowledge & thank Keith (Dj Klapton) from Dallas for the surprise morning set - mind-melting morning melodies, the people in the pool were having a blast and actually got out & clapped when he was done. Pls book this local talent more often - besides the music, his deco projects as Optiphonic are the most unique & refreshing. Silver, am glad you had a good time - we were running really late, but the road signs we installed later apparently helped out a lot. The temperature did slow down the night, but thankfully everything & everyone thawed out after sunrise. See you all at the next one. |
