I'm afraid music in the modern idiom is much too repetative for my tastes... but I must admit, the rhythm has a certain hypnotic effect.

When I walked in, I was certain that I was leaving shortly. Then, I danced my ass off, and felt like that little raver kid that fell in love with techno for the first time again. I almost wanted to stick my head in the bass bin and just get lost in the rhythm....

It was hypnotic, and I realized why I love this thing we call "Techno."

It brings out that tribal element in all of us.........

And Roos, disregard anything that Joel told you about Woody and I. We will show that mofo how to Jack like no other.

Lastly, it was good to see rufus in the house..........got mad respect for that brother!!!!

Likewise. I passed on De's birthday (Happy belated, my good man) because I knew I would see the usual suspects the following night. I ran into Jennifer celebrating her birthday big, Frodoel (making the rounds and in all time good mood), some of my other crew from back in the Lizard Lounge days, and of course, the bad ass staff of Minc.

Whoever has that pic of Julie with the tissues in her ears (Mark Pena?) needs to post that shit online.

I can't wait for Scottie's Boz Scaggs "Lowdown" edit to come out because that shit was making people get down in the back. A few more faces and a plethora of tunage later, I got to shake the legend's (Derrick May) hand.

It was definitely a good time. I normally am not a fan of the harder end of dance music, or anything over 132 BPM, but I have the upmost appreciation for it. It's just not my cup of tea. Maetrik did a great job... dark and deep. Derrick tore it up. MAN... THAT dude knows that DJM-800 like the back of his hand.


Good to see everyone. I actually got to talk to some folks last night that I normally don't get to hang with.

Thanks again to Julie, Swaney, Josh, Melissa, Jordan, and all the rest of the folks at Minc who bust their asses to make sure we have a good time. Thanks to Fresco for teaming up with Minc and bringing some of the best shows available.

Now... Redeye and I are ready to rock our Saturday nights regularly again until the next headliner in June!!! Stay tuned and come shake it!!!!

i have seen many many shows and i have to say that Derrick's passion and EXTREME mixer skillz were far beyond impressive. I danced non-stop

sometimes it is really nice to just get hammered and rinsed like that

i had a great time. mucho alcoholic beverages as usual, the dance fairy stopped by and tapped me with her wand(not literal considering my environment lol). music bumping inside AND outside. rufus gave me the great pleasure of meeting the better half of the Roos family. danced some more and shut it down.

btw Mr Roos, i just saw your email last night lol, it went to my junk folder by default for some odd reason. i will have to discuss with my better half about the clubs but if you get a buyer before then by all means, take the money.

great show, derrick came out hard with a vengence and didn't let up. got me to dance which i almost forgot could still happen. he fucked that mixer like a dirty bitch and dropped some classics.

also it rounded out me seeing the belleville three (juan atkins,kevin saunderson and derrick) play in my lifetime. i see the reason why he's a legend. did i use that word?

that record bump early on too was hilarious.

i am so jealous you guys got to hear Derrick May in such an intimate setting. he plays with the same vigor and energy whether it be 1000 people in the room or 10. glad to hear it went off so well last night and wish i could have been there. i am listening to Relics as i write this. i was thinking about the show as i was out of town wishing i was there but alas i will see the Innovator in tha D next week. can't wait! congrats to Jose and Joel on a great show and many more memorable times.
