![]() | Freq Nasty @ One
So ya...Freq Nasty, damn. ![]() I've never heard anything quite like his style before and was honestly expecting it to be a bit more "relaxed" since one of his primary influences is Reggae. Not the case at all, his set was full of energy and he had everybody on the floor shaking their asses by the time he was into his second track. DJ Love also threw down a great set which included a few of his own productions. One of his new tracks has a guitar riff (which he played) that has a very funky, groovy, booty shakin' feel to it.....very nice. And of course Merrit broke out with the new "whammy jammy" genre that he invented just for this show. ![]() I ended up having to bounce before Freq was done, but it was still mayhem at the door when I was on my way out, I'm glad I got out before Kat had to regulate...lol. Great show, good times, and fresh tunes.

DJ Love is always pounding nails into the ground because he gets the job done. Merritt with follow up (nice Led Zeppelin tune, btw), lead into Freq Nasty's calvalcade of sound. I can easily say that this event had sounds from all over the musical landscape. The trip got a little bumpy at times, but the memory of it all is more than worthwhile. |

Positive vibe from the start. Love laying down like back in the day and of course Merritt with some of the new material he has been working on. He said something about "Whammy Jammy" I dont know I just know I was dancing my off. Freq well let just say it got Freq'y. Hey everbody thank you for coming out from Kelsey, Ringel, Tessai, Weid and the rest of you break freaks we had a great time. Don't forget Elite Force coming up July 8th @ One. Also we will be hanging out Sunday the 9th watching some world cup soccer with Shack. Keep you posted.

Thank you Brett for having David & I out to play! We both had a blast and it was really great to chat with Freq after the show! I'm really looking forward to the Elite Force event!

Had a great time for the afterhours experience. I really dug the stuff being played upstairs by Tessai and Ringel.

ahhh fuck shit. I missed this one. Bring Me The Head Of Freq Nasry is f'ing dope. He is one of the few U.K. breaks guys that could rock the Trance loving socialites of South beach. Im really gonna have to tune into this board more often........lol |

DJ Love had a nice jazz and ragga thang going. Freq nasty pumped up the volume...I gotta' say I didn't like the screaming spoken ragga' rap being churned out at such volumes, just a little irritating. My old tinnitus/hyperacusis-ridden ears are partly to blame. Freq Nasty played a few tunes that Love/Merritt dropped but they were (mostly) good enough to be heard a second time (especially that "Burn cali. weed" ragga sampled action, I'd like to know the name of that one). Generally flawless mixing from the whole crew in the main room (didn't get a chance to check room 2, manning the laser in the main room) one trainspot from me for Merritt: Way Out West - Apollo (General Midi Remix), one of the few bastards who owns it. I don't know if it was just me but turnout seemed really light for a Saturday night...maybe the weather put a damper on some of the action. So nobody saw the lasers?! Bummer. |

ooh.. I saw the lasers! Yes, turnout could have been better. But I DID enjoy the breaks as a bit of a change from all the housy shows I've been to. ...not to say that one genere is better than the other. for those who attended, it will be a show long remembered. |
