Vadim set = hip-hop heaven

Had hella fun last nite even with a drive to Oklahoma at 3 in the morning.

I am super glad I saw him well worth the hour + drive from my casa in the rain, and the pain of today no sleep what so ever, but had to much fun to care!!
Danced from the time we got there till the last trax of the nite.
The nite was a throw back to the rootz of hip-hop and One-self was awesome with Vadim.

Hailey's is a total chilled out kinda place with a supa selection of ales.
Would drive out there again in a heart beat for another show like this for sure.

"Underpromoted" best fits for a one word description. It was a nice little show and, this being my first time finally making it out to Hailey's, it's a nice little venue. The opening MC's gave me a free excuse to leave and come back or to hang out at the bar and talk over the din, but the badass tablist and the curvy freestyler (especially with her diatribe against commercial rap and capitalism) recompensed for it all. Oneself was a fucking refreshment; I don't normally get silly over MC's, but New Yorker Blu Rum 13 and Yarah Bravo, the lounge singer dressed as a Japanese toy, formed a sweet, little jazzy duet, and Vadim, in spite the near absence of any beat juggling this time around, proffered the kind of atmospheric balance a jazz-hop set would ask for.

REALLY wanted to go, but the rain made it impossible. That's probably one of the reasons why it seemed underpromoted.

Probably. I hopped around Fry Street for a few minutes and everything was as lifeless as your mom roofied out on prom night after I dumped the homecoming queen for a slice of some decrepit ass.

Really though, I got there around 10:30 and the rain had been done for a while; One Self didn't hit the stage til 12. I still vote for underpromoted.

You can say underpromoted about allot of shows that come threw Dallas.
I think it would have had way better attendance if it would have been in Dallas rather than Denton considering the rain factor.

But the last time L.T.J was in town it was off of Greenville @ Shade and it was another low attendance show, due to poor promotion once again.

But, to be honest as much as I love DALLAS I just think the scene has lost heart in the past few years, and peeps just don't' come out to rep-it like back in the daze.
And even when you do have a somewhat packed house peeps still just stand around and don't get in to the shows all that much.

Not all the time, but a good amount of the time.
