while the party in and of itself had a few flaws, I had a badass time. HUGE, CATASTROPHIC, MAJOR flaw: DB NOT spinning atmospheric. That singularly was the reason that I went to impulse, and not to flow, where I knew there'd be good music. But I figured, hey, how often does Dallas bring badass atmospheric talent... yeah right. DB was tight, but not in any way what I was looking forward to hearing. Aquaviva was good, but for the most part, I really didn't even care who was on. Chillin with my friends and being a complete moron made that party fun for me, regardless of how dead the party was. Quite honestly, I liked running around the party and having plenty of breathing and dancing room. Not a problem by me ![]() it's whatever I guess, some parties bump, others don't. It's all in the cards sometimes... |

![]() | pro's dara, db, knowel = fucking dope john walker.. props for a dope set in the beginning then closing for someone else who didn't show. seeing all the dravers. whatever else i forgot. con's john acquawho?.. some of you are gonna be like whatever but i will maintain he has shitty track selection, and you'd think with final scratch having the ability to sort through a bazillion songs. mr acquaviva was OK at best. period. i don't know if you're gonna call mr. acquaviva progressive.. but if you wanted a phat prog. headliner that not many people have heard of... maybe u shoulda brought someone like anthony pappa.. nick warren.., etc.. i guess the reason the party went bust as far as attendance was because you forgot to appeal to the yuppie etard audience (which is sad) by not bringing someone like tiesto or something.. not saying tiesto is etard music, but you see where i'm going. price: 30 at the door? grr oh well.. hope the promoters didn't lose all of their life savings cuz i know a chunk of it is gone. |

I could count how many people showed up. =/ main stage: kid icarus - nicely done. i started groovin' along to the set. about the only thing I let my self stand in there. canyon club: im starting to really enjoy jungle..weeee..its good stuff. i dont know, i was just bored most of the night when I wasn't dancing. =/ last BB party was f'ing crunk as shit..though it was sasha..dont ask me..i dont know |

Ok... I was there... briefly.. I went to flyer... but couldn't anywhere... so I was dejected and went home. I would like to say something here... that I think we all forget at times... there are people on the other side of these computers. Specifically the promoters of this event are. Now, I was not involved with this party... but I meet the people who put it together... and they had so much time, energy, love... and yes, I am sure money (I am sure it was someone's personal money... as there is no "rave money tree"... and unless Coca-Cola paid for this event, what else would it be? But personal, hard-earned money!) .. invested in this event. Just think about how you word a message sometimes... cause those people are hurting today... nothing hurts more than to see an event unfold as it did last night... and this isn't going to help at all. Remember, there are ways to get your point across, without making knife wounds. I am sorry this party didn't go as expected. As a promoter who tries to bring talent that no one knows... I know that you have to do it small scale, if you have any hope of not loosing too much money... shot, even on a small scale... with no "Tiesto" headliner, you are sure to loose money. But, I want to give the PROMOTERS RESPECT for trying to push our scene somewhere NEW!!! It's hard to do... but damn... you tried!

Despite it being dead, I thought the party was badass. I actually *enjoy* seeing BB a lot calmer; unlike Delta Heavy. Delta Heavy was a badass party, but there were TOO MANY people. I'd rather have too few. Aquaviva was "good." But I honestly wasn't floored or overwhelmed by what he was doing. Dara on the other hand... okay. I'll admit at first I was about ready to leave when I walked in and he was just staring at the record that was spinning. But, I stuck around, and OH MY FUCKING GOD that man is AMAZING!!! Christ, I don't think I've been more impressed by a DnB DJ. I'll agree with Arthur on the DB thing.. I was kinda looking forward to his atmospheric sound that he's so popular for. Good set, yes, but not what I expected. And as for people, it was great seeing... David, Thomas, Anna, Julie, JD, Sean, Sailor Jupiter (forgot your name!!! I'm horrible with them!!), Roxie, Roxie's friend (keep her out of the closet!!), Arthur, Sara, Brian, Alex, Jay, Liz, Drew, Chaos Theory (forgot your name too :P), Mark, Rach, Niki... and I'm sure I'm forgetting people, but you know I love ya anyway ![]() Oh yeah, my main rant about last night... after printing off all those fucking flyers (some of you know what I'm talking about) security wouldn't let me bring them in, and when I pants the flyers the guy went STRAIGHT FOR MY CROTCH and said "get rid of them." I honestly don't see what harm bringing in fucking flyers is. But again, I'll never understand their policies. Since ya know, smoking is okay if you can get your cigs past the front door. All in all a good party! And I'm kinda thinking the turn out was bad cuz everyone went to Flow, but I could be wrong... |

First off, I just wanna say Big Props to J Walker and Co. for putting this on. It was a kick ass party even though it wasn't quite as successful as I'm sure they would have liked. But the people that were there, were there b/c they KNOW whats up. John--thanks for being such a generous friend. I really appreciate it!! As a party-goer, the lack of attendance was actually quite nice. I didn't exactly miss all those cracked out kids running around bumping into me and whatnot. I thought the music was bumpin' all night in the main room. I haven't danced that much since...wed! All good sets from John Walker, Paul Paredes, and Jeremy--but that's a given Unfortunately, I was torn between Aquaviva and the dnb room. But I believe I caught the best of both rooms! I finally got to see dara after missing him the last hundred times he's been to dallas in the last year. He was real nice too. His set was really AMAZING. i was blown away and ecstatic that I got to see him again So, i'm really diggin' this whole dnb thing more and more each time I go to a party. DB and Knowell (rawrr) were awesome as well. I thought John Aquaviva was fuckin' phenomenal. I thought he had a great track selection....it got the crowd going balistic. The energy in on that stage was SO intense!! The man is very talented and I give him mad respect. It was cool chillin' with him a bit afterwards and listening to his thoughts about the scene and his experiences. All in all--an excellent night. I feel very proud to say that I was the last man standing (on the dance floor..hehe) I wanna mention the wonderful kids that shared this wonderful experience with me, but my review is long enough already! but you hoes know who you are ![]() I'm out, tabby |

I had a pretty good time last night. The musical talent was pretty good in the main room and fucking badass in the Canyon Club. We got there in the middle of Typecasts set and he got the party started for us. Then Katalyst went on and damn.....the canyon club started rockin. Went into the arena for awhile and listened/danced to some of Pauls set. Not bad but not as good as the dnb. So back into the canyon club for DB and that man is awesome. It would have been nice to hear an atmospheric set but who could complain about the set he did do. And then the man himself...fucking Dara was awesome. As we were leaving we caught some of Knowel's set, not only was his set great....he's a lil hottie too! All in all a good time. I have no major complaints. It was great seeing everyone but I'm not going to try to name off names. |

![]() First, I throughly enjoyed not having a packed Bronco, Tabby and I had so much room to break dance, it was even funny!!! And ChristyQ and her friend were battling us, so it was all good ![]() JOHN AQUAVIVA FUCKIN RULES! I dance I think for a straight hour before my legs gave out on me! They said"whoa big boy, sit your ass down before we make you fall!!!" So I did, and enjoyed Mr. Aquaviva's set from various points inside the Arena....from the very back, to the front row, to the edge of the stage where i met sum new friends Mick, Deana, and I forgot that others girls name but she was hella kool too... To all the "DRavers" that were out and about last night, great seeing everyone again...Tabby, ChristyQ, Arthur, Thomas, BOLDEN, Julie-ravemuch, AzNJuglist whose a koo mofo, him and his friend Gabriel?Gilbert?Eros, MR_J, Derrick, Roxie, July, Anna, the artist formerly known as SailorJupiter aka Chaos_Theory , Tony, Billy, David in all red, Gator, Shakes, his friend Rachel, Mark, Sergio, and well to everyone I met and was introduced to, which was a whole LOT of people, great seeing everyone last night...and last but not least, to Funkinetics and John Walker for bringing this great talent to Dallas, I got to hang and talk with Mr. Aquaviva and hearing talk about the scene and how long he's been djing and such, it was just kinda inspiring, makes me wanna write more songs now....he's been djing since 1982, since I was 1 year old, how fuckin awesome is that! Im so tired! I never danced so much at a party...I think Imma have torest all day today lol.... Laterz, Karlos "Tabby has nipples on her head" | |
