Not trying to hate here, but I'd like to say a few things about 51. This is just my personal opinion of this place. You know, honestly I don't like this place. I hate getting dressed up to go and make an ass of myself. Don't get me wrong, I'm no KikWear sporting beaded photon jockey, I just like to be comfortable. Also I think the decor in this space is a bit too cliche. I mean come on, the alien theme was played out in '95. They could do so much better with that space and not make it look like a ride at Six Flags. It just seems like such a waste. But most importantly I'm not feeling the sound. I can't stand hero trance. A lot of people complain about the crowd here, but I've never had any problems. Everyone I've met there has always been super cool; I guess it's just not my cup of tea. *Shrug* However, I did get to catch Brad from 51 play at the Village Station last Wednesday and I must say that I was thouroughly impressed. I was expecting the usual high energy blaring synth and enormous buildup that I've grown accustomed to when I'm dragged to 51 by my friends, but Brad laid it down dark and dirty. The vocal track he dropped about 3 tracks deep was SICK! I'm not sure what exactly the point of this post was. I wanted to voice my opinion and give credit where credit is MOST definitely due. Props Brad! Maybe this is the sound that's going on in 51 now, and if that's the case then maybe I should give it another shot. So uh, yeah. M |

it is miles trust me, ive been going for past yr and the music is much better then what is used to be, now brad plays some prog trance and constantly builds it up till last call at 1:50am then when lights go out at 2am he drops the hard heavy trance, the place goes off, as far as dress code goes i dress that way anyways so im comfortable going there, and even though the decor is old, its still one of nicest clubs ive been to in dallas, the only prob. i have with area51 now is they seem to of turned down the sound system but ive already talked to brad about this.

Come on guys, it is not called the bathroom, it is properly termed "the side room" (Straight from Brad F's mouth)

![]() | "woohoo" bartender...
I AM the beer tub girl in the side room at 51 (thx for the woo hoo Davin) and I have to say a few things about 51, so here goes: 1) the decor is a little cheesy I guess, but c'mon...it's comfy. What club's decor is all that great anyway. They got rid of the alien vibe, and I dunno what they're trying to do now, but they've got a lot of places to sit and a lot of room to dance. They're still working on a new set up for the place, and I'm sure it'll be alright. 2) Brad has gotten a little repetitive so I've heard (I don't get to hear him b/c I'm rockin' in the side room all night), but now they've given Ragman a residency every other Saturday for some variety, and he's really good. He's got a unique style that he's developed over the past couple of years, and it's pleasant to the ears I must say. 3) Since I started working the beer tub we've stopped the trance/trance DJs...I mean, who wants to hear trance in both rooms? Plus, I'm in love with break beats, so I need to hear them to be satisfied. Every weekend we bring in great local talent...they spin breaks, house, garage, and hip hop (which really isn't bad), etc. Basically anything BUT trance and that's really the icing b/c the club used to be all about one genre, and that has changed dramatically. Jobe was there on Sat. night and he's got a great mix...can't wait to see him there again. All in all...if you haven't been there for a while, you should really give it another shot. It's really a good time. Hope to see you there! |

I'll tell you exactly what club in this town has awesome decor that is constantly being changed (virtually every weekend, but especially when big names come through)/ Cub One. One's decor is phat. The upstairs is kind of like an attic but downstairs is way cool. Eh, whatever. M |

Yase the bartender/beer tub gurl be twurking it all night long and is definitely the best eye candy at Area 51, it keeps me thoroughly entertained while my roommate Jobe is throwing down in the side room, it is definitely worth checking out from time to time.
