 | Snow Patrol and Ok Go in Austin
Good show! Snow Patrol was pretty good and the weather was great for an outdoors show at Stubb's. They sounded better live than they do on album.Recorded, they sound kind of whitebread and boring, but live they are pretty good. The lead singer is a bit of an egomaniac though. Lots of jesus poses and silly mannerisms while he was singing. I thought Ok Go was better live. Much more energetic and they even had a guy onstage that was jumproping. They had seen him in a movie earlier that day at one of the sxsw filmfest screenings and invited him onstage to do his thing. Here's a couple of videos and a few pictures I shot. They did. They were pretty good, but I didn't like their singer too much. He was either too wimpy singing or screaming. No balance whatsoever. Their closer was nothing but an unchanging wall of noise. I love my noise groups ala My Bloody Valentine and early Sonic Youth, but these guys paled in comparison. All three bands were bitching about how much Dallas sucked too.

it sure was.... this time around was different since their new found fame, however still a really, really, really great show. silversun pickups were fab too. i still heart lightbody aside from the jesus poses and all.
