Bassnectar@ Mercury Hall in Austin

So Mercury Hall was a really cool spot to throw a party. Its a place that does wedding receptions/parties/ect. Had an outdoors area that was surrounded by trees and plenty of places to wonder off to and explore.

Got to the venue around 11 and Ana Sia from the Glitch Mob was dropping some tasty hyphy glitch hop tunes. Very good dj an very cool ass chick as well. Then came the main event!!!

Words cant even come close to expressing the ass whomping he brought on everyone in that damn place. When he came on, the semi small room filled up completely. There were prolly at least 200+freaks in that room completely going nuts. He was droppin some spankin hip hop/freakbeat shit at first but he went into all kinds of bass whompin broke beat stuff. He even dropped some of the illest drum and bass ive every heard in my life.

I can safely say that he one of the most talented and entertaining dj's ive ever seen. The energy he and his music brings is something you dont get to see very often. And the way he munipulates and edits shit in Abelton is incredible...

Then to end it all, after he played, there was a huge as drum circle pow wow in the outside area and dudes were playing all this tribal percussion and drums and this hot ass chick spinnin poi for everyone...

All in all, best party ive been to in years. The vibe and connection between everyone was so rediculous!! That Austin hippie counter-culture is so awesome. Wish we had that in dallas. I hate it everytime i have leave that place.

it was ok..went to the show they had at karma in austin ..much better then...i paid 18 bucks online then noone even checked our ID's..we could have gone for free..Loren didnt come on until 1....not impressed....again much bettr show at karma back in November

I hate it everytime I have to leave Austin as well.

I really wish I could have seen this show, but I can't stand being in Austin for SXSW especially when it's St. Patty's Day to boot. Too many drunk college kids for my taste.

Yo,didnt catch bassnecters set thursday in atx-when i went to see him sat @ karma-he refused to play and bounced-left about 75 ppl with nothing.So he is dope dj,but i cant blame him -he was a busy man that week-

Bassnectar played again on Saturday night at the Enchanted Forrest. It got even better when Kid Beyond got and mike and started throwing down lyrics with him. THAT was a sick show! The down tempo area they had there was really good as well. Next time STAY in austin!
