MY WMC Review

Hey Gang,

Wanted to give a quick shout and give the highlights of this years WMC trip. Since I was there for work most of the week days were taken up but I was lucky enough to still hit some choice events.

Tuesday: Misstress Barbera, James Holden, Mirk

Great night, love the club. It was at bed which is a cozy place for a decent sized party. The dancefloor was packed the lights were cool (they even had hazers which are fuck tons better than getting fog juice on you) Misstress Barbera played a really moving minimal set. She was 100% solid consistant the night through. Then james got on and killed it, much funkier than I had heard in mixes ive downloaded but still on point!. Great night, one for the books!

Thursday: Did the day thing, hit allot of one off's. Beach plaza hotel was kickin with Demarkus, Qburn etc.. Definatly was the highlight of the day..

Friday: Devine lounge for Charles Webster, he rocked that little hooka bar. Great set and the bear was there as well. Later we went to BED again (seriosly my favorite club in south beach) to see Steve Bug, Loco Dice, and Martin Buttrich. Loco dice started it off insanely minimal. I dug the tunes but the energy was low. Then martin came on and started doing a live pa that was killer. Except for the computer dropping out for a minute it was a solid live set. Then steve bug came on and jacked it funky and flowin all night long.

Saturday: Hit smaller day parties and ended up at Mark Farina for free at the cleavlander. He played a dope set (save and excet the 1 million hip hop acaellas he was layering) hes great at it but i can really only stand soo many, still played a great set. He was followed by Collette and Lady D tagging. More chi style funk in that one. Then I ventured back to devine to find everyone getting crazy and down @ Devine lounge for Miss Kelly Marie. Her set was dirty bad!!!! She had the place more packed then I had seen it, and she had everyone jackin. She threw down a very dope set!!! Bounced around somemore. Tried out a couple parties that ended up being so/so.

Sunday: Hung out at devine lounge all day. Played a fun set with Face live on trumpet. Others in dj attendance were mathew bandy, bonehead, DIY, etc. A great cap to the trip.

I wanted to thank Bonehead and the MYhouseyourhouse guys for letting me play and having a dope chill spot all three days!

your one of us now sean! when ya startin ya own show? was definately the best wmc yet for me personally because of finally meeting all of the MHYH worldwide. massive! Still cant believe who we had in that lil' lounge! what a blur...

The best thing about conference is how amped all the DJs are when they get a chance to play... Nothing like hearing hot new music all week and then stepping up to the decks to do your own thing. Two DJs I saw do this this year were Jimpster and our very-own Kelle Marie My two fav sets of the conference.

Jimpster just transported me to another time and place with smoothed out lush melodies and solid grooves. This guy's taste is second to none. Kelle rocked one of the filthiest sets I've heard in a while. I want those tracks, girl! Martic Buttrich also had a sick live PA.... shit sounded like I was walking on the surface of Mars listening to sticks of butter bangin' on drums.... ?

was my first trip over to the states let alone miami and i had a wicked time with you guys. heard some great music n met some great people. like bonehead says roll on WMC 08. will be back with the whole family for some sun, beer n flu jabs

this year was the first time i got to go to the WMC.

it was pretty awesome. details are pointless since I'm at work I don't have time to write all about what went down.

i got a great tan & a bunch of cds.

next time i go, i'll stay on the beach. =D
