An excert from an e-mail/WMC story: **These 3 dudes in a minivan that was decorated in very professional looking pot decals and High Times logos pulled over and gave us free samples of sour patch worms infused with THC. Mike then pulls one of the dudes aside and gets an 8th from him. His buddy gives me a card and tells me they'll be mobile all weekend if we need anything. Hahahaha** I <3 the 305. |

Hmm where to start.. Okay we went to the Shine party with David Morales,Frankie Knuckles,& Satoshi Tomie. Wow! We caught Morales mid set played a blinding set, and then it was Satoshi Tomie who went on and blasted the place. Considering we had nothing to eat, it didn't take that long to get completely wasted. We went to eat at Jerry's Famous Deli, and Tomie & Hector Romero walked in like nothing sat down across from us, Laidback Luke strolled in with the Swedish House Mafia, and talked to Tomie & Romero for a bit. Nodody bothered them too, the way it should be. Friday at the National i ran into and met several of the European House/Electro producers who got records on my store wall. All seated by country lol too. Roman Salzger cool cat , Stonebridge,Dj Sender,Patrick La Funk,Lucien Foorte, and Eddie Thoenick & Chris Kaeser. i barely caught Tiefschwarez, Richie Hawtin set's, but the stuff they played is the kinda of techno i've been getting into lately, hard to put it in words so i'll just say good techno. Went to the Milk N2 Sugars party that night, and i have to say Seamus Haji blew the Opium Gardens away, he dropped his new mix of Last Night A Dj Saved My Life , and the next thing i know i'm covered in fog, blown up style. Fedde Le Grande came on, and i must say not impressed at all. Played like two tracks that got me moving no (Put Ya Hands Up For Detroit) either which was a bummer just cause i wanted to see the reaction to the club. Then there was Tom Novy who as soon as he came on dropped "I Don't Want Nobody", and gave Seamus a run for the title. Novy blasted the place with that twice, and i got gassed yet once again. He played a solid set and really came close to beating out Seamus Haji. Finally some vocal tunes got played. We walked back to the hotel which was about nearly damn 12 blocks away. ![]() Sat we went back to the National Remix hotel , Bad Boy Bill,Fedde Le Grand,Dubfire,Mark Knight all played, with Mark Knight stealing the show imo. In the crowd were Axwell,Noir who i got to meet, and hang out with. Mark Knight killed it. Dropped the new Dave Spoon record and got a massive reaction from it. Saturday night we wanted to head to the party with Seb Fontaine, D Ramirez, and Tom Novy, but the line was too damn long, so we said fuck it lets go to Blue. We head there , and talk about a regular Miami saturday night party. The place got rammed, and the first guys who played were the Groove Junkies from Houston, who i ended up drinking with after the show, great guys, and we spoke briefly about brining them to Dallas. This one cat Peyton tore the place up with a live P.A. Kinky Malinky dropped bomb after bomb old and new. The crowd was about a crazy as you can ever assemble, made me laugh when i looked up and saw a dancing shiek, turban and all. Wasted yet again we went right over to Jerry's Famous ran right into Eddie Thoenick just chilling out he called us over and we spoke for a min.Waited about 1 hour to even get seen and i said fuck this , and walked out. Went back to the hotel and just passed out. Sunday.... Went to the National one last time and saw James Zabiela, G&D. James put on a hell of a show, had a smile on his face the whole time doing it. Ran into Steve Angello,Sebastien Ingrosso,Axwell,Tommy Sunshine, and Rene Amesz. On the way out saw Eddie Thoenick again , he called us by name asked us to sit down, which we quickly declined, and just spoke briefly, and said good bye. What a great guy, i felt he was a very genuine person, i just didn't wanna bother him any more than we did. By this time i was to tired to even wanna go anywhere else, but alas we got talked in to going to Mynt Lounge for Cedric Gervais closing party. Finally got to see GAP do there thing in Miami, such a great thing to see them come this far. Second Sun did the PA of all PA's. Totally rocked it Metallica style. We were in the Vip area, and Sharam from Deep Dish walks up like nothing, and didn't leave whatsoever. Steve Angello walked by, and hung out as well. Next was Cedric Gervais who walkded up , entered the booth and played one if not the best set i've ever heard period. Blew the place the fuck up. Next thing i know i'm drinking a corona outta Cedric's corona bucket. That fool had them bring at least 7 bottles of Vodka,Patron, and othershit. Angello was wasted, Sharam too. Got introduced to both Angello & Sharam, by this time i was like damn who else is gonna show up, Noir & Eddie Thoenick rolled up, and hung out. We walked out , and got a bite to eat , and saw Armand Van Helden on the prowl true playa style. One thing about my time there in Miami, not one time did i hear someone blast hip hop in their car's like you get hear. Also all the shops all had some form of dance music playing, and it really showed me how much the locals respect dance music over there. Between the insane gouging of door entry fee's i'd say the cabs & the bars did well off me. Cabs =200+ in fares spent, bar= 10 dollar corona's in a can. I was like wtf? Space i heard was 300 per person. Had the list to Milk N Sugar & Mynt Lounge, so at least we had that, plus the Remix Hotel event's were free upon registering at the entry. Also there was no tune for the Confrence like in the previous years. I think part of this was because everything is shared or leaked these days, and because a lot of guys can't afford to sit on things until conference. No Lola's Theme, or Flashdance this year , although there were a lot of good tunes played. Miami hasn't seen the last of me, thats for sure. Last edited by Jason-X; 03-27-07 at 08:53 PM. |
