it was a great show i walked away w/ a better appreciation for lateralus. my friends all went ape shit when the lasers kicked in for wings/10000 days. that was really really good. nice visuals. 8.5/10 would have been 9 but there were times when it was hard for me to hear maynard. loved that he came out rockin the cowboy hat. greatness.

Tool owned as usual. This was a much better show than the one at the AAC last fall. Drummer Danny Carey is a machine and I was mesmerized by his playing, particulary during the extended version of "Lateralus." The setlist was good, but I didn't care for "Jambi" as the opening number. This is my 5th time to see the band and this show would probably rank #2. The best Tool concert I ever saw was at Reunion Arena on the Lateralus tour. As always, the band closed with the "Aenima" and the arena went completely nuts. Good times indeed.

every seat was close. :P that place was a nightmare moving through just before show time. we made the monumental mistake of entering on the opposite side of the arena from where our seats were. DOH! took us about 20 minutes to get from one side to the other weaving in and out of all the bathroom and beer lines.

You know what was a nightmare? Sitting on the 7th floor of the parking garage waiting to get out! We sat (drank) on the 7th floor for about an hour before we got in our car...once in our car it took another 30 minutes to get out!!!! But still worth it!!!!

hahahahaha i parked just across from the train station. some old man was leaving one of the parking meter spots. i paid NOTHING for parking and was only a block away. another man was leaving 2 spots ahead of us and these kids in a 4runner took it. i got everyone in that car, tore up from the neck up for the show. good times, good times

nope they played the exact set list i posted i do have to say that it would be difficult to do things on the fly due to the light show being choreagraphed to the music. dont get me wrong though, i too, would love to see more, but that show was greatness for what it was. and from what i've read, this show was better than AAC was. but that can pretty much go w/out saying for bands when nearing the end of the tour. they get to be so on point w/ that much playing on the road. i'm still reveling in carey's insane ability. his approach is spectacular. he really looked like in a lot of pain mid way through the show. he's such a trooper. you have to remember he's been playing w/ a torn bicep.

Just to play Devil's advocate, and feel a little better about not seeing them last night, I think the main reason it surpassed the AAC show was because the venue's smaller and can provide a far better experience than the AAC ever can; that place was just too effing big to really feel the show. Feck. All the more reason I should've made more of an effort to go last night.
